Friday is the day, after 4 fabulous years with a 911...996TT I have taken the plunge & done a "deal" for an AMV8. It is the looks that sold it for me,they are fabulous, nice to drive as well but only had two test drives so far! I'm worried I'll miss the grunt, but as a 997GT3 arrives next March this should give me a chance to try out the Aston brand.
It's a used car, Titanium, with caspian (HID,heated seats/screen, nav, phone,19 inchers, extra leather, alarms & tracking stuff, battery conditioner etc etc) can't wait until Friday.

Any owners tips on what to look out for on collection, things to check, extra's I may need to consider (asked about over mats...that will £195..gulp & I thought Pork was bad!), etc all input greatly appreciated

I believe you've,very wisely, booked your return ticket to the Porsche fold and if your V8 is as unreliable as mine has been (it goes tomorrow hurray/sob) you'll soon be chasing your OPC for a delivery date! Seriously enjoy what is probably the most beautiful car I've ever owned and I hope you don't need that GT3 safety net too soon. Don't think there's anything particular to look for - most probs. seem to have been well documented and revolve round build quality.

Pusey, what date was yours registered, did you Px the car & if you don't mind me asking what did you get (email me if you don't want to post on a public forum)as I would like to prepare for the shock in 9 months time.
Other question is what were your main reliability issues, I seem to remember it was battery/alarm & window seals, but interested to know.
Cheers for your help.

I have some brake squeak and the reverse is a bit notchy but other than that the car's been fine.
I don't see it as reliability issues, hopefully once the car is worn in, it'll be fine. Just check
around the exterior and interior, and make sure you get a battery conditioner. It doesn't have to be
the Aston Martin one, as long as it trickle charges and automatically turns off/on when needed.
Good luck!
