Collect my V8 Friday

Hope you are enjoying it. I was saying to Mrs Get just now (we've just been out for a blat) that although there is no way on earth I could keep up with my old 911 turbo S - it's a damn site more entertaining to drive.
It's just something about the balance and grip on tight fast corners which is so pleasing.
Just remember to use the clutch 'the Aston way' on quick starts or you'll stink the neighbourhood out.

Interesting that you have come out a 996 Turbo, how long have you had the Aston & what are your thoughts in comparison with the TT, whats better, worse etc, interested to know?
Quite easy really.
The (996) 911 Turbo S (X50) is quicker, faster, quieter, safer in the wet, more MPG & will get you there MUCH earlier than the Aston. (997 even quicker I understand).
And If I had to have one of these two for the next 3 years - It's the Aston. No competition.
Why?
The Aston makes me want to take the long way round. Why rush when you are having such a good time?
It's a question of quality time.
edited to add... I urge any potential buyers to get this car on to PROPER twisty roads (90 degree 50mph stuff), it's only then you'll find how well balanced and how grippy the car is. It's a real joy to drive at speed.

400 miles this weekend, it eats up the miles effortlessly. Balance is perfect. Its amazing how much grip is offered around the bends without any electric gadgetry cutting in – and the soundtrack of the engine ! it makes you want to drive it again and again and again…. The driving experience is like nothing else. I have the biggest grin on my face and I can’t stop it.
Nice one Carl, got your pipes done yet ? and what's your colour/spec ?
Great summasion by Mr Carter there, it's just brings a grin to yours and others faces when you drive the V8.
I guess one weekend we'll have to have a PH V8 meet up. Yes it is exclusive, yes it is elitist, am i bothered

Spec is meteorite with obsidian black, silver stiching and black headlining
19” alloys
Black calipers
GSM phone
Sat Nav
Heated seats
Heated front screen
HID headlamps
Cruise control
Powerfold mirror
and i'm sure there is something else i have forgot about.
10mpg so far... but am i bovered
a few niggles so far
handbrake light sometimes stays on
rattle from passenger side – seems to be the tyre pressure sensor module
n/s door mirror adjustment is clunky
scratch on the rear quarter sill
satellite navigation decided to take me on a 1/2 hour detour and then back where I started. Also refused to take me into the congestion charging zone - I guess it’s trying to save me money for fuel
Not sure how to upload a picture to a posting but my profile has been updated now
