'Emission system service' - Warning Light
Discussion
Mine did exactly the same thing at about 100 miles on a motorway, was reset by the dealer, and appeared again within another 50 miles. The dealer said that there is "no such thing as an emission service so ignore it and it will be dealt with at the 1000 mile service" (due next Monday). Other than a very nasty rattle, this is the only niggle - so far!
I've had this on mine from day one. Sh'e now done 13k & the emission system service display has been on for abot 11k of those, on & off. My dealer has changed the reverse button & the paddle shift electronics, we now think it may be the drive button. It's not a problem, just a little annoying. If anyone does manage to cure it please post & let me know what it was.
Yes, I've had the same problem - and many others. According to my dealer its to do with poor error trapping in the software, whcih then gets its knickers twisted. Apparently an upgrade is in the works - but the programmer is semi-retired and living in spain and A-M (so my dealer says) forgot to get the source code. On a £110,000 car this is ever so slightly pathetic if true - any ideas anyone?

That's rubbish.
The MIL lamp can be lit for hundreds of different reasons, there is not one particular fault. It is just letting you know that the car has stored a DTC (diagnostic trouble code) relating to an OBD engine function. The dealer will be able to read the codes and interpret and fix the problem.
I had this problem whilst in France. It occured a few hours after an unfortunate encounter with a suicidal deer (insurance bill £6,500, new wing, driver's door, paint; 5 weeks without the car - so far). Coincidence? Perhaps not, as a misfire also developed that caused the amber warning to change to red. Stopped the engine, restarted and it was fine, but the misfire did recur. Hope to pick the car up this weekend when I should learn what the problem was.
I also had the same warning message appear just before my 1000 mile service. It was cleared at the dealership. The mechanic told me that it did not represent a problem as far as the functionality and drivability of the car and would await Aston Martin's reply as to the fix. Error reappeared shortly after my 1000 mile service. I am ignoring it until I get a chance to have it cleared again.

Ooops! Whilst the wing damage didn't look too bad, turns out the skull (presumably) of the deer went through the wing and damaged the airbox underneath, so no surprise I was getting dash warnings!
My "Emission system service" warning appeared about 100 yards after I removed fuse 22 at about 600 miles. I put the fuse back in, took it to the dealer who reset it. The next time I started the car it came on again. It has been on since. The 1000 mile service is due tomorrow so no doubt it will be reset again. Has anyone else noticed a link between the removal of fuse 22 and the emissions warning?
My "emission" etc warning lit up late Friday night,I called Stratton Motor Co ( Norfolk) 10:30 this morning, drove there at midday , a good journey , no traffic lights, winding country roads and some derestricted duals about 25 miles , drove the car in the workshop , had a good cup of coffee , ten minutes later fault rectified and " checked your oil and added a splash " ( yes I know it should be done cold ) " any problems please call us" Not used to this sort of service, especially from Ferrari or Porsche,
Incidentally they have, SOR, an X220 Jaguar ( 869 miles only ) for 109 thousand GBP. Is that the normal asking price for these cars anybody know ?
