Just what it says on the tin... anybody found a good set of tyre pressures for the DB7 (18" wheels, S02 tyres)? Thought it might save me hunting for the best set-up.

Cheers!

39psi all round IIRC - as per the manual.

Cheers Jeremy... was just wondering if there was some magic setting that was far better than the factory recommendations. Guess not!

The manual also states that for added comfort you can drop them to 32psi which is the pressure I ran mine at unless of course you are going to do some hard driving

Went to check they were all at 39 last night, and they were consistently 27 all round! No wonder it was squirming all over the place accelerating on uneven surfaces. (Wonder when the last time they were checked was...)

39 feels a lot more consistent and precise, but tramlining from the front's far more pronounced now. Am considering playing with the pressures at the front a bit more/switching the front tyres to something else (P Zero Neros, probably), and thinking about having a geometry check done... Are DB7s generally prone to a bit of tramlining before I start on this? (I never had that problem with ultra-low profile (30 and 35) tyres on the XK, so I'm assuming it's entirely curable...)

Cheers!

As ever it is a little difficult to quantify; one driver's "undriveable 'cos of tramlining" is another's "pointy setup".

For what its worth mine did suffer from tramlining (especially on rutted roads/lane 1 of motorways) and had spot on geometry and tyre pressures.

This is definitely tramlining, not "pointy"... Am very much talking about your typical inside-lane and badly-surfaced-road situation. Ah well, not to worry - will just learn to pay more attention to the road surface (and switch away from S02s when the time comes...)

Be aware that you may be told the S02s are bespoke to Aston Martin, and only available from AM themselves (at a price ...). I had S03s on mine and they seemed to work OK.

Never been a massive S02 fan (and I hate S03s), so will try a few alternatives out... really get on with the P-Zeros (as long as there's not too much standing water about), so will give those a shot, followed by some Eagle F1s if they don't do the trick...

Not sure if it equates to Astons, but I have tried virtually all the BIG brands and the best I have found that scores well in all area's are Toyo Proxes. All the grip of P 0's, half the wear rate, decent price, and as a bonus an attractive tread pattern.

Yeah, I quite like the T1s... not right up there with dry-weather grip, and Ss could do with a bit more sidewall strength (hence their replacement with Rs, I guess), but fantastic value-for-money tyres and all-round performers.
