I have used the Aston dealership Grange of Exeter for the last 4 years to service my DB7. At the last 2 services I reported a suspension clunk and mis-fire, neither of which were attended to. I therefore sent the car to Lancaster in Reading where they told me that it was obvious that these items should have been attended to much earlier and the resulting bill was well over £5000!
I wrote to the CEO of AML and the Customer services chief, copied to Grange of Exeter and BBC Watchdog, asking for compensation for this oversight.
Grange denied that I ever reported the faults and refused to pay anything.
I am thinking of taking them to Court.
Can anyone give me any hep or advice?
Thanks, William.

I had a big spat with BMW - who refused to honour a warranty issue - until I got it plastered all over the motoring press...

... and all of a sudden they were as nice as pie, paid for all the work and gave me a large sum to 'shut up'

Best tip - Get it in the press.

I would suggest that any one about to purchase a new or second hand ASTON MARTIN DB9 or VANQUISH S that you don't!
I have a DB9 2004 oct todate 12000kmls total time at works service oct 2005 to march 2006. jobs done oil and filters changed. jobs not done, power steering still not working needs mod, gear box still overheating needs mod, rattle in drivers door loose relay, tyre pressure sensors not working as when new,, leather still coming off the dash, linn 950W very expensive not working as from new stereo (sometimes it comes on) telephone not working (but then sometimes it does) one head light not working from new replaced by a mechanic from Austria, boot release not working from new oilcooler replaced and leaked after 30 miles forward vision hampered at night by heated windshield asked for it to be removed and replaced at my cost after six months at works service nothing. then someone came to my home to fix everything fixed the oil leak from the new oil cooler and had the car cleaned and returned with scratches all over the paint some stone chips on the front had not been repaired at works service (possibly six months was not enough time)but a ding in the boot lid 10mm X 1mm deep cost for the repair wait for it !!!!!!!!!!!!!! no your wrong the amazinggggggggg £17,500 pounds Sir.
The two passenger side wheels had been replaced and no one could give me a why or how's your father as to why (this is works service) and the story goes on ASTON MARTIN should right books as there dealers and service and sales are the biggest Story tellers the GRIM brothers told fairy tales these would make more money than Harry Potter

Then there is the flag ship (should have been called the titanic) the ASTON MARTIN VANQUISH S totally unworthy of the Aston martin brand name delivered in October 2005 ordered November 2004 (four months delivery Sir bull S***)
Oct 11 1:30pm car delivered with 160 klms why no one knows, the factory tell me max 60klms as they deliver to dealer by truck, after 130klms first fail of gear box selects (N) as if by magic when it wants, second failed engine goes in to check mode and runs on less than all plugs this goes thru the night selecting (N) when it wants sometimes going with check light flashing (the book says phone this number and its a recordings its an ASTON and they have your DOSH the recording should have said F*** Of* its yours buddy fix the thing yourself well when your on a round about and your in (1)just about to pull off that said round about and the little light goes (N) and there's a PING noise. no problem press the ejector seat button and get your arse out cause that huge French Juggernaught screeching to a haultdoes not want to stop. yes it happened I don't no how many times, so what to do , the following switch off the key place foot on break switch on key wait and wait and oh now select (N)the car selects (1) when switched on ??? so select (N) start engine and select (1) to pull away, opps no i pressed (1) well each time the little devil said no no no after about three or four or was it six or seven well finally got to my destination and want next well just short of 1000miles the breaks went front drivers side disc cracked, sowith my new car broken phoned the ASTON MARTIN men and said guess what its broke they said we will pick it up tomorrow I said no way give me my money they said basily you bort it you eat it, the car stood by the road side for FIVE weeks before it was taked to a ASTON MARTIN dealer who said it aint broke I said look at the disc they said nufink rong after complaining and insisting they return my money northing the car went from one dealer to another to works service where they admitted that the disc infact was broke and that it had been replaced so six months later I'm told my cars ready "and the gear fault" I say and the engine and the navigation system and the loose headlamps and the out of alignment of the lights and the rusting bolts holding the wings on and the leather falling off and the chip in the wind screen and the hazard lights that come on ad lib and wait that's non my tyre on the back thanks ASTON MARTIN why have you fitted a new tyre to the rear passenger wheel well after six months at works service ASTON MARTIN right up to MR BEZ (or is it BETZ) sorry !! PA who said to me on the phone be reasonable its new technology its going to go wrong give ASTON MARTIN a second chance well I did and a third and fourth now £298,000 pounds later over 150 phone calls three visits to ASTON MARTIN and the repair of £17000 +
MR Bunny is not very happy this is a true story and there is so much I have left out the burning clutch hand break now working and the car running backwards because the F***ing cluch cant be ridden like a manual it gets too hot to quick and dumps the gear and leaves you going up poo river so now there's scratches to the rear of the car because the hand break in combo with the auto clutch thing sucks big time. Sorry to go on just gets sadder and sadder I think the press need to know THIS CAR IS DANGEROUS when I invited ALL at AM to ride in my car and test it to 200mph they all declined !!!!!!! think what you want of AM all they sell is the noise out the back I think someone said once allot ado about nothing and my 996 turbo after 4.5 years and thrashing every week end on the track lives on (PS fos sale almost new pair of AM'S any offers as AM have refused yes refused to take the cars back and sell them on) so folks out there the great illusion, ASTON MARTIN ( the Vanquish has an all radio!

...and I'm having the same problem on my DB9 with Lancaster Aston-Martin who keep swearing that they "well they all clonk sir" - sounds to me like a universal scam to screw us punters out of hard earned dosh!

Anybody ever had any experience with a certain East Midlands based main dealer? Got it booked in for its service next week, and I'm very much hoping their service department inspires more confidence than their sales staff... I called in twice to see them (3 week gap between visits), told them I had the cash in the bank ready to buy (turned up in the previous car prior to it going the first time), and the spec I was interested in; even pointing out a couple at their other dealerships I'd like more details looking up on (costs to re-trim the interior in aluminium, have a sports exhaust fitted, etc) before starting negotiations, etc. Didn't get a single call back with a quote on that/call about any of the other cars I spotted popping up at their other dealerships over the next month, etc.

One very, very easy sale lost there.

They didn't want my money either, so I bought it elsewhere.

HWM Aston Martin are family owned and the oldest Aston dealership - they are based in Walton on Thames close to London and M3. Can highly recommend them both in sales and servicing.

I will second the HWM recommendation- Paul Spires for sales. Also, Broughtons Cheltenham - may not be as convenient for you but they are a proper dealership too.

I think that Broughtons Pangbourne can do Aston Servicing or will be soon according to the sales guy there!
