DB9 rear brake pads need replacing after 4000 miles
Discussion
My DB9 is at Stratsone's for its first annual service and they've just called to say that the rear brake pads are nearly worn through and need replacing (£400+VAT). As I have only done 4000 miles of which half of that was on motorways through France last month I think this is somewhat premature! The tyes are fine so how can the brake pads have worn out already?
I've asked them to go back to the dealer and ask them to pay but what is my position - obviously if I had taken the car on track days and thrashed it I would expect to have to replace my tyres and possibly the brake pads after a few years. On my previous 911 I didn't replace the brake pads in five years so why have they only lasted one year on the DB9?
The dealer talked about "active braking" when cornering hard in the car but I don't think that applies to London driving...

4000 miles for new pads. Sounds incredibly dodgy to me...but what do I know!!!
