should i get one? getting tempted. sold on the looks etc. do dealers have demonstrators? is it only manual or is there an f1 version?

how much is it going to depreciate over the first year do people think? (assuming i buy a 2nd hand one for 80-85k) i can live with 10k loss but dont want to waste much more money on cars

as there seem to be a lot of people keen to get rid of physical cars or future orders does that mean they dont like them or were they just speculators who have got burned? certainly doesnt seem to be any premium comanded.

colour choice? love the saphire blue and black

any thoughts welcome!

To answer the original questions:

There is only a manual at present

I don't think it is people not liking the cars that are the cause of some being available, it is more a combination of speculators and the sheer length of time you had to be on the waiting list to be getting a car now. I picked up on someone else's cancelled order, they went on the waiting list years ago, probably hoped to be able to afford it come the day but weren't able to so they cancelled.

Everyone does seem to expect them to hold their value well, you should be OK with your 10k in a year. As for colour - Torro Red is the only choice! Parked in a line with about eight other V8s my red one was the only one anyone was looking at. It stood out a mile compared to the blues and greys and blacks.

I first saw the car at the launch which was at an RAF base. The cars nearly got overshadowed by the Harrier display though! They had a black one, a red one and a grey one there. But when mine got delivered to the dealer I went and had a look at it and do the paperwork, it was sat in their car park with other Vantages and DB9s. I was sat there for a while and of the seven or eight people who went into the car park when I was watching all of them spent their time looking at the red one.

Is that the Torro Red look like it could be the Merlot Red?

It's Torro, the pictures don't do it justice they are a little underexposed. Keep meaning to fix them but only so many hours in the day.

No offence Siscar, and each to his own, but suggest Andy stays away from the unusual. Colour will make a difference when coming to re sell. Most popular according to dealer is black closely followed by the plethora of greys.
What ever you choose, the paint is very, very soft and marks exceptionally easily. A bird dumped on my wing on Friday and actually marked the paint !. Meteorite... Beware!.

Get one, I was in two minds but nothing, and I mean nothing looks a classy. A 430 stopped and revved his engine AT me last week....he was bald with a watch the size of big ben...says it all really.

Colour does matter to resale, but unusual colours work both ways. Torro Red was one of the colours used at the launch of the Vantage, it was the colour of the Vantage tested on Top Gear, it was the colour of the Vanquish tested on Top Gear and is the colour of the Vantage in the reception area at Gaydon (unless they've changed it recently). All chosen, presumably, because they know it looks good in that colour. It's all personal preference but certainly the dealer commented that he could have sold mine a few times over in the time they had it pre-delivery.
