and your point, basis, angle is?
ahhhhhh sorry... I see now.... you were directing our attention to look at your 80's V8 in your profile.
I see now, very nice car.
So I notice you call your self 'The Aston Man', you sound just like a few other typical V8 'mine is best, the original V8', type owners , there are so many of you out there poo pooing the latest models it's getting a little boring to be honest.
I'm a true Aston Martin enthusiast and embrace everything the company has produced in it's history, from the original 1930's Ulsters, the fantastic 1961 DB4GT Zagato and even your 80's V8.
The company has an amazing heratige and pedigree, I'm just pleased it's still going today and it's growing in strength with every new design and is profitable for the first time in it's history.
If it wasn't for the Ford motor company bailing Aston out, I'm pretty damn sure it wouldn't exist today. The latest models are still true Aston's in my opinion bringing the company into the 21st Century to challenge the likes of Porsche and Ferrari.
To make a simple baseless comment like you have done here just show's a bitterness and ignorance imo.
Call your self a true Aston Man... I think not
over to you

... and please don't forget that when the DBS and V8 came out, that all DB owners said exactly the same etc etc all the way back to the people who own pre-war Aston Martins today.
I completely agree with Shady that it was somewhat of a pointless comment.
The question is, would you rather that Aston Martin had disappeared? You must remember that the chap who was in charge when your car was built was the man who secured AMLs future with Henry Ford II.
Previous "caretakers" of Aston Martin would have given their right arms for some of the opportunities that have been given to their old company by Ford.
There will always be personal preference towards product and the way things are run but over all it is a resounding success in an industry that can boast few such stories.

Not proper Astons?????
My a***!
I love all Astons from every decade, but to be honest without Ford we would probably not have Aston as it is today, if at all. Aston have moved on in much bigger and better ways since the 70's and 80's, and things can only get better...

You new Aston Owners are very touchy.Looked at the swich gear in the new Mondeo.Does it remind you of something you look at every day.lol.
My father new Victor Gauntlett personally as he was a director of pace petroleum and if he his way he would still own the company. The Livanos shipping family bleed Astons dry and in 1987 ford brought a 75% share in Astons to rescue them.It was the Livanos who sold and gave nobody else a chance.
Know you history!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Know your (lack of) grammar

if you own a Aston of any form or kind you have to know the history. The company is all about passion and history.
SO Mr Aston Man why on earth come on here and give it the large one? "oh MY dad new Victor Gauntlet" blada blada bla.... what do you want a medal?
You talk about passion and history, give me break. If you had any passion for AML you would embrace the new era rather than walk around with that HUGE chip on your shoulder knocking it. All you are doing is making yourself look stupid
Quite a few owners on here have their own special relationships with people at Aston Martin, myself included, so don't think you are so special. Actually, sorry it wasn't even you was it, it was your dad...
