Spoke to local dealer today, offical launch april 07, 5k gets me a september 07 delivery slot. He wanted to know if id like manual or paddle......now, whats the chance of the paddle being any good? not willing to bet on it....

also, ive been offered 6, count em, 6! unreg v8s for immediate delivery in the last week.... well spec'd and all good colours. first self spec'd delivery availble xmas.... i make that a 8 month wait... or 8 days....depending on how impatient you are.

off to buy a big calendar and start crossing off the days.

The paddle shift in the DB9 has done very well in all the magazine and owner reviews I have seen. The paddle system on the V8 will likely have much in common with the DB9 version although they won't be identical as the DB9 one doesn't fit in the shorter V8.

What spec are you considering?

manual....although im sure if i change my mind it wont be a problem...as for the rest of it...
the coupe in black does it for me, more than any other colour - so, black. As for the internals! would love to say red, more likely, black. Unless im having a extremely brave day... very disappointed with the orange leather, looked great in the photo shoots, not so nice up close.

Paddle or manual ?

Having had the excellent paddle box in the DB9, i would still imo say I prefer the manual box in the V8, but some might dissagree as it can be stiff and clunky when cold.

Saw the volante at Gaydon this week ! Fantastic, horrible light green colour with 18" wheels leaving big gaps... but the car is lovely !!

Big sign inside saying DONT DROP THE HOOD !!!!

Car will be April 07 at earliest..... paddle shift is going to be further down the line.

Gaydon are already struggling to meet deliveries .... so a paddle shift in either coupe or roadster is a while a way...........
