Can anybody give an idea of monthly finance costs and balloons on the new V8, or could it be cheaper to lease one. I am going to Millbrook on Friday to test the car and to see what its like. Will be driving down in my SLK55AMG

From my dealer booklet....

Deposit £15K
Balance £66K
Charges £14K
35 monthly rentals if £975.5
Baloon £46K

APR 8.9%

These are figures from the dealer. May be much better rates elsewhere!!!

There are plenty of websites which will help you model all of the various financing options available. The big issue for calculating a lease or balloon financing is calculating residual values which are very difficult to do for a new car model.

Finance costs tend to be in inverse proportion to how much you need the money. If you really don't need it you can borrow at really low rates - I'm currently paying back £40,000 borrowed at 2.5%
