Beautiful. Doesn't shout...doesn't need to.
Kristan Scott Thomas would see you again.
Here it leaves the Ferrari and 911 standing in a pile of crass D&G clothing & Breitling metal work.Pure class both inside and out.

Power: Acceleration is brisk, nothing more. Torque..mmm. You need to use the gears. Don't rely on the torque, it's there but not with the punch I was expecting.
The aggressive muscular haunches project power, what's delivered is refined but not intoxicating...which is as shame. Why Aston couldn't have fettled another 30 bhp or so remains a mystery.

Give me a clear morning with no traffic and the welsh hills and I'd take the 360 every time. Pure visceral emotive pleasure. But, put the 360 in a city...pass me a balaclava. You look like at best a gumballer that plays substitute for Fulchester Utd....which is too embarrassing to contemplate.

The Aston won't and is not designed to deliver the same experience, and I realise that. A few more horses would not have gone amiss however. For me, it's not a second car. It's a car that should be used every day. And that's what I intend to do.

It's not how quickly you get there but how you arrive....most of the time.

I agree, and consider myself lucky to have one. Just a missed opportunity to ensure that a great car becomes a classic.

If you get embarrased by people seeing you in a car, then why buy the car in the first place? I don't buy a car based on what people who see me driving it will think. I if i did care, i'd buy a Volvo. Buy a car because you want it and sod everyone else and what they think.

What are you trying to, ignorantly, imply?

At end of the day SOME people do not like the attention that a "nice" car brings. I have had great and crap experiences from people in my Porsche..BUT... I bought the car for ME to enjoy, by driving it, and so don't give a monkeys what others think or let that lessen my joy.

I do believe that if you are concerned with this aspect of "nice" car ownership you are better off with an older euro box so that you can blend in with everyone else.

Saw one driving through Amsterdam the other day.

Sound didn't impress me (they thought about it . . .). Less roadpresence than a DB9 or even a 7. But hey, it's so much more style compared to a Porker . . .

The Rari statement is personal but pure bull IMO. IYO a 575 would do and a 430 / 360 wouldn't?

Anyways, please drop a pic and enjoy your stunner. Because that's what it is. Gorgeous.

TG topic: I'd have the AMV8 for an everyday car . . . and leave the M6 / Porker.

I suppose I have just seen too many 360's etc driven by complete poseurs through town, and have been tarred with the same brush on several occassions. Takes the edge off the ownership IMO. Great for the open road, but why some roar through town or meet in little chef carparks to dribble over each others exotica and drive off in convoy, remains beyond comprehension.

ClassicDriver review.

"But if you’re only looking for neck-snapping acceleration you may be disappointed, it’s too sophisticated a package for that."

"What, no sequential gearchange? No, you’ll have to do it the old-fashioned way (for the time being) as the six-speed Graziano ‘box is activated by stick rather than paddle."

"Porsches have grown, Aston Martins have shrunk . . ."

"Anything left to say? Not really, take it from me, it really is as good as people say it is, and for those of you agonising over the cost/performance/911 conundrum, what would you rather say you were driving, eh? And I haven't mentioned the exhaust-note once."

I was looking at a red AMV8 yesterday in a dealer window, what a stunning car

If it seems a little slow why not keep your right foot in for longer ?

I have a GT3 and a Boxster S and it's amazing how quickly the "little" Boxster can be hustled along a windng road !

As an aside, I used to have a yellow Elise which I often parked with the roof off. Well, it leaked when it was on so ...
On returning I frequently found a group of people standing around admiring the lovely aluminium interior. The second comment from some bright spark was often --- somebody's nicked yer tax disc --- at which I used to stick it back into the window.

It was a fact that I had had my tax disc pinched more than once before I wised up, and had a standard letter for keen parking wardens ...
