I would put LARGE amounts of money on it! (If I were a betting man)... and it will be stunning and beautifully crafted.

Now where is that crystal ball?!

It is a gorgeous car, but does Aston have to succumb to Ford's retro-obssession and call it the 'DB5'? Aren't we due a 'DB8'?

Personally, I can't wait to see it, although I'd prefer it to be called something other than the DB5.

As long as Vauxhall don't mind, they could call it the Victor, after Mr Guantlett who helped save the company back in the early 90's. It was he who gave us the Virage and then led the sale of the company to Ford.

The DB7 replacement is likely to be called the DB8 (with a modified version of the current V12).

If the new DB7 is to be called the DB8 (with a V12), then ford with their retro run will have to try DBS.....or maybe not

Or what about just calling it the V8? It's got one, and it would be a reiteration of the old V8 line.

Ahh I cannot wait.

A few eyars ago I bought a Numberplate : V8 VTG

(ie V8 Vantage). They Aston stopped making the V8 range of cars. I bought the numberplate purely to sell to a city type, to help fund my own Aston..

I cnanot wait until they do a Vantage version....

If weren't a cynic I would defend Ford by saying that the DB5 nomica is probably no more a retro badging exercise than the BMW 328 of the Mid '90's.

The DB7 is now established, and it makes sense that if the new car is to be smaller, that its numeric notation should be lower...

ie. MG ZR,S & T or BMW series 3,5,7 etc...

...ergo DB5....

...but I'm not

Since the DB series was a sequential thing it should be DB8 or 9, if 8 is already earmarked for the DB7 replacement. Of course for the purists, the DB7 should not be DB at all since it is not a David Brown car so maybe any new cars should have a name not a DB number.

Being an Aston it will no doubt be a stunner but I doubt it will be as good looking inside or out as the T350c Ummm... A 21stC interpretation of the 60's Tuscan/Griffith with a powerfull straight 6 or a baby Aston/Ford no doubt with a Jag V8 engine or even a Ford V6 - you pays you money (probably £40k vs £65) and takes your choice! Rich...

Did you ever sell it ? I'm a city type that would take it off your hands for a fair price !
