How do you run a V8 in ?
Discussion
Picked up the new motor yesterday, and I must say it really has exceeded my expecations.
The grip, handling and general composure of the car far outweighs the DB9 imo.
The DB9 is a fantastic GT and continent crusher, but this new V8 is a real drivers car.
So 2nd day of ownership, 180 miles on the clock, what does one do for a hoon?
Take a trip around Goodwood, helping AML's chief testdriver with noise testing. AML would love to use Goodwood, but the noise gave some doubts. So they were testing there today and I went to watch. One V8 came in under the limits, but they had a doubt about more than one V8 at full throttle at certain points of the track, at the same time.
So I was asked would I mind helping out.... OOOHHH toughie that one
The test driver took me for a few laps in HIS V8 so I could familurise myself with the track and the fact that Goodwood has just been totally resufaced. He pointed out the sound traps and where it needed the valves open. He did of course oblige with a quickie lap for me.
Bloody Hell... This car handles well.... SO Impressed
Now my turn... Obviously taking it very easy and looking after the new car, not trying to stress it too much.
Here's some pics of my new motor and a smashing day.
