Just having a nose around and wandered off the "italian threads", couldn't help but check out the AM threads. Your insurance quote sounds pretty damn expensive to me.
I pay circa £500 FC for my 3200gt, admittedly I'm a little older than you and I have opted to limit to 3k PA. but £2k,yikes.
I insure through heritage as a modern classic, they advertise in auto Italia, but I'm sure that they would do AM's also.
Might be worth a call on 0121 246 5050. after all a 50p call may save you £500 - £1000 or more?
Let us know what they quote you as I may be changing to an AM next year.

2k sounds ok to me, don't forget this is Aston Martin and quite a rare one at that. Go on autotrader.co.uk and get quotes, tell me what you come up with. If you dont mind how old are you?

Try Cheam on 02086527733 , speak to Mike.
They have insured all my Aston's and I find them very good.

You should try Alexander Forbes as advertised on the AMOC website, as they specialise in Aston Martins. They have quoted me £2000 for my V8 Vantage which is due for delivery in a couple of weeks. I am 26 with only 3 years no claims bonus, so I think that is quite good.

Wow that is quite good, i may have to get a V12 Vantage then! Running costs are not my main concern, insurance has been a problem for the V12 though. I get quotes like 2.5k - 3 k, and most of my quotes are with Norwich Union/Admiral ect i never thought about spiecalists. Can i ask you does you're job affect much how much you're insurance is by alot?

AM it may be but Massers aren't exactly the most common car on the road and replacement parts are hideously priced, something which insurance companies tend to take into consideration. I'd be surprised if heritage are anywhere near that expensive. Whats the cost of a phone call, it may well surprise you.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.
