Erm no you wont,

3000 cars pa to be produced, as opposed to 30k 911's...
Im not trying to say they wont drop but they are going to be a far less common sight than the 997.

Forgot to mention my fezza dealer has had over 20 430's in the last 7 months.

I am interested to hear where you heard that each dealer is getting 70 cars this year. My dealer is one of the larger dealers in the UK, and they will be lucky if they get 15 cars this year.

??????????????

30,000 911's produced per year.
3000 AMV8'S

Even if Porsche stopped producing them now and Aston made the V8 for the next 10 years, your comment STILL wouldn't hold water in 2015, lol.....

You have made no reference to any particular Ferrari ?
Which one do you mean ?
What are the production figures for it in comparison to Aston then ?

I have just read the following on www.autocar.co.uk/news_article.asp?na_id=214573.
This states the new AMV8 rival will be roughly 3000 a year, same number as AMV8

C'mon, back up your comment's

Not doubting anyone, but I am truly amazed if they are available at list already....I have only seen 2 on the road and one of those was a lhd Aston test car.

OK shot down in flames

I have an AMV8 on order also for delivery mid next year

But my dealer said that aston don't have the world wide appeal to say Porsche, in the US they are seen as some small british sports car maker as they are in other countries

Now i know that Aston want to change this with the AMV8

My reason for saying that they will be as common as 997s is maybe a little over the top but i know my dealer is getting close to 70 cars this year which is a hell of a lot

I love the V8 and would buy one based on looks alone!!!! yes i would like it to be faster, more exclusive, residual proof etc but it's not going to be the case in my opinion

Don't be so hasty!! Maybe he thought he was buying a slopey backed new Porsche to echo him own ugly mug and then realised his mistake in seeing thr gorgeous Aston.

Or...hes a speculating tosser

Autobytel are selling a new one on their website. I was looking around earlier today for a cheap company car and was suprised to see them listing Aston Martins, but I'm sure it listed a Vantage for around the £75k mark, so was even more suprised. Just checked again now and it says £80,933!!

With a quick bit of googling it seems Zero premium AMV8's available at these

www.importmarques.com/astonmartindb9.asp

www.car4u.org.uk/

www.imperials.co.uk/ (Details here)

and you can even find PHer's advertising at a "mere" £3500 over list here

No idea if any of these are "real", but if some of them are it seems the premiums are going to last as long as the Gallardo ones did....

Your dealer said that? The one selling you the car? Are you sure?

Or maybe he makes more per Porsche, and wanted you to buy one of those instead???

Do you believe everything he tells you? I think if a deraler told me that bit about the small british sports car maker(rather then mention its owned and backed by Ford and James Bond is fond of them) I would walk away very quickly.

Surely a Bond connection is the ultimate accolade for any car. Why else would BMW (a small German car manufacturer) pay mega money for the rights to be in the film

IMO, for what it's worth, I think the dealer just pointed out a fact that everybody has known for years ???

Porsche easily have a more world wide appeal than Aston, again, IMO

I've heard these tales of AMV8s being available right now at no premium but can anyone actually offer me one, to collect, today?

I was told about one at a dealer in Oxford. So, out of sheer bedevillment, I called them.

"I hear you have your demonstrator for sale for £81k"

"Very funny sir. I don't think so, we are taking orders for 2008 delivery sir. We might consider selling our demonstrator in 6 months, at the fully optioned list price"

Form your own conclusions gentlemen.

perhaps some of it is down to there being quite a few speculator cars around at the moment. Once they have sold to real buyers, I would have thought premiums would return as there would be far fewer cars on the market for potential buyers?

There are a load of adverts around the web for AMV8 avaliable now and then a "list price" - none actually seem to have a car and if you read the print thay do have a premium.

The AMV8 is not going to have a massive premium like a 430 but they'll make £5K over list - ( for a real genuine delivered physical actual car!!) for at least a year (if specced correctly) because there is a genuine 30-36 month waiting list.

Also the comment of how Aston is viewed in the states is so wrong it doesn't even warrant a detailled reply.

PS. Porsche 997s are very good cars and good luck to anyone who's got one.

Also - where has the original post for this thread gone to?

Had 2 amv8s sold on thecarspeculator.com website, Tungsten went for 5k premium and high spec black car got 7k premium, if you can get a uk car for list price i'd be very very surprised! My own Vantage comes in march and I have no worrys of using it for a while then selling it for list.

they are definitely available at list.very surprising.I have been offered two,one grey, one black, sitting at dealers at list money.it's very simple.lots of people bought them to speculate or at least get 6 months free motoring out of them.If the reviews had been out of this world they may have been in luck but the press has been a little mixed and so some speculators have panicked hence they're readily available.I had heard stories about 20-30k premia up until a month or two ago but it just hasn't worked out that way.Apart from certain Ferraris, new cars fetching 'overs' for all but the briefest period seems a thing of the past.this is not a dig at the AMV8,I've never even driven one, more a comment on the new car market generally...

If these are dealers cars (customer cancellations of extra phantom orders) then they aren't allowed to sell them over list!(don't forget they'll make 10% on them anyway)

Gunner, could you tell me which dealers have them offered at list? I would be very interested in getting hold of one.
Thanks
