Couldn't believe this when I saw it! Theres a brand new, unregistered DB7 Zagato for sale on ebay, start price £110,000. Is it true that AM still have something like 4 of these still unsold lying in storage?

AN sold all of them, but its possible some dealers still have one- Stratstones (sp?) in Mayfair had the last un-registered version in their showroom last time I enquired. there will be plenty in storage, however- i have only seen two on the road

I've seen one on the road...and I was in it

Does anyone know why they havn't held their value well (being only 99 of them) or when their values will pick up?

I'm in two minds about potential values for Zagatos - the DB7 GT on which they are based is £65k, so even at £110k you are paying quite a premium for a car which isn't really rare enough - 99 is too many, especially bearing in mind that 60 of them were RHD, making LHD cars rarer and more valuable due to the larger LHD market abroad. Prices could either drop in line with the GT or could rise as the cars become less obvious on the market.

I've seen two on the road too - both mine. The first I used quite a lot (6000 miles) and I recently traded it for a second one (I preferred the colour scheme) which has now got all of 600 miles on the clock. The zagato drives better than a standard GT (lighter, shorter, etc), and the interior is quite the best I have ever seen in a car. Not holding my breath for resale values (though I'm unlikely to sell so not bothered really), but would expect they will always trade with a premium of some sort to the standard GT not least because very few see the open road. Looks not to everyone's taste but it's way way better in the flesh than in photos, and it's amazing how many people ask about it and say it's the prettiest Aston (or indeed, car) they have seen. No, really!

There was one in the AM garage in Paris, only one I have seen in the flesh and I have to say it looks stunning.

I think in the long term the residuals will hold up much better than the DB7/gt/9 but that is in the really long term...

Hi
Not guilty I'm sad to say - the first Lemans I have missed in about 17 years.
See you next year though, with luck!

Now I'm not wanting to stir it up, but... I think the front and side angles of the Zagato look incredible, but the back, how or why did it go so wrong. It looks like a cross between a mondeo and an armadillo!!

Its like someone said up there, it looks SO much better in the flesh (well, metal...) than in photos. Front end looks stunning, and the back end admittedly doesn't look as good but its still pretty dam good for most cars

I love the way the bumper goes round the 'zorts

I think they`re a lovely looking thing and they truly stand out in the flesh. 100 is not many, so the long-term value prognosis must be good, particularly as Aston volumes are rocketing. As the lucky owner above states, the interior is a lovely bit of retro anglo-italian kitsch!

If I were currently buying an Aston I would look heavily at a V8 Vantage (Newport Pagnell version) either Towns or Zagato clothed. These are unlikely to get much cheaper and they are splendid british icons...

Couldnt agree more.
I just happen to love the look and lines of Zagato bodied cars in general (cos I have strange tastes for the visually challenging!). Now, where did I put my white stick...?

If I knew how to I'd post a couple of photos showing how good the car does in fact look from the rear. But I don't so I can't!

RS Williams have a RHD DB AR1 for sale if Zagato al fresco is more your thing.

Heres a couple of pics of the hardtop version (taken from another website as I don't have any pics of the one I've been out in )

I also have a wheel from one, the 5 spoke version which the guy who owns the car I went out in damaged it slightly so had to get a new one . Just need to get a center cap for it now...

Saw one of these last Saturday afternoon parked on Old Bond Street near to Asprey - 53 plate, looked absolutely stunning, especially the interior. Never realised this was such a rare beast...
