Anyone picked their V8 up yet?

Don't even go there! See the posts on the AMOC forum - I was due to collect my car today but my dealer, Mayfair, scratched the paintwork this morning so it is back in the workshop before I have collected it (though I have paid for it in full).
Apparently Friday is the new collection day. I'll believe it if I see it.

Sorry to hear of your delay,,,,obviously you are excited to collect the car, so when you go to inspect it......don't fall for the old dealer trick...if they say there was a scratch on the left hand side,,,,,really check the right hand side thoroughly!
I always find it dissapointing when customers choose to name a dealer who has failed to meet their expectations. If there is continual failing by the dealer then yes, other consumers should know, however, wouldn't a more honourable attitude be to give the dealer the benefit of the doubt - after all accidents do happen to the best of us.
Was a little disappointed with the Aston experience so far. My car had been on 'off line testing' for about 3 weeks. Called in on the off chance and was told by the salesmen "Errrr, still no different news im affraid". I pointed out to him the identically specced car in the showroom to which he replied "errrm, yes.... thats yours, ahem" It had apparently arrived 'yesterday' and they were 'just about to ring me'.
A quick look over it showed up an obvious fault that i am amazed was not picked up at the factory being as tho they had been testing the bloody thing for soooo long.
It is being sorted as we speak but not a note of apology re the service etc.
Hope the car impresses!

Thats awful.
I imagine the dealers preparation fo rthe extra volume, as in selling a car a week :-) has not been handled well.
Dealers are a roll of the dice though, some are good...most are average some are shysters. Lying to a customer is not acceptable though

My car is now in "off-line testing".
What does that entail and whats the normal procedure from here?
Road testing, water proof testing , noise emmisions and front end crash testing etc. Then a final once over by the line manager. I would recon a week before delivery, does that sound about right ?

Also me and Shady have taken it round the track to assure it goes fast when thrashed :-)
You lucky bastards. I only got to do the Front end Crash Testing.
Safetystop, it did very well when driven into a wall at 30mph
