Any news on deliveries?
Discussion
Has anyone heard any substantive news about their car's delivery date?
I had expected that some of the early cars would have been with customers by now, and as some lucky people are very high on the list, thought you'd have received yours by now.
It's very nearly November - looks like nothing's happening in October apart from dealers receiving their demonstrators.
Does anyone have a firm date yet?

During the factory tour I was told build time for the V8 would be approximately 18 days, then the car is held at the factory for another week or so being prepared for shipment, plus delivery time to your dealer, and 24-48 hours of prep time (PID) at the dealer. So a rough estimate from start of manufacturing to delivery in the UK is about one month. Living in Dubai, it will take an extra two weeks for me to get my December production car because they come by sea.

My dealer delivered its first car on friday and 2 more are due this week.
Are those customer spec cars or ones specified by AM?
Mine is supposed to be on the line next week.....not sure when that means it will get to me though!
Hi there, Im not sure, but would assume AML spec
Customer spec'ed cars for the Middle East have had their production start date (POD) slip to first week of December. Mine is now scheduled to start production on December 8th, and I'm crossing my fingers that it is completed before the factory closes for the Christmas and New Year holidays. To compensate, a handful of factory spec cars are being built this month and sent to Middle East dealers for those customers who are not willing to accept the delay.
I was told that it takes approximately three weeks from production start until a finished AMV8 is ready for shipping, 18 days production time plus a few extra days to complete final testing and preperations. Does anyone know when the Gaydon factory starts their holidays and when they return to work?

my POD is 22nd November but my dealer has (very fairly) told me that means late December delivery and, therefore, it would be madness to not register it as an 06 car. The first AML spec car was delivered Saturday - so some lucky bugger has a grin a mile wide.
(I know who you are!!)
BTW, guess which aristocratic car and period race enthusiast has ordered a V8?

My build has slipped until December with delivery 50/50 before/after Xmas.
As a result I have swapped my car to another car (which is not to my spec) for collection next week (it exists as I have sat in it!). I can live with the revised spec, however the biggest sticking point was that I had opted for an upgraded sound system, whereas the car I am now getting has the standard system... I hope that I have not made the wrong decision!

wrn,
resale will always be easier with the golden satnav and stero upgrades.
