My other half and I are thinking of having a couple of nights somewhere in Wales. I fancied the Pembrokeshire coast area - never been, looks nice. I've done Anglesey before and the north coast area, but otherwise open to anywhere. It seemed a good excuse to actually use the Aston for something other than visiting car meets/shows, which seems to be all the poor thing does at the moment.

I've been searching around and struggling to find something that answers the question "but will I feel safe leaving the car in the car park overnight". I am overly precious about it.

Wondered if any of you lovely lot had a recommendation?

No recommendations as such but I usually go on Booking.com and tick the box that says 'Parking'. I do double check that they actually have onsite parking. Plentiful when out of town like you're wanting, but much harder in a city.

I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Small hotel, well more a fantastic bistro with rooms and a small apartment. The bistro/restaurant is lovely.

Great driving roads in and around there.

On the hilltop at Llanbedroch, near Abersoch.

Small car park at front but very safe. Nice new Roller there when we stayed

P.s.if you spend £25 and join Aston Owners, they have a list of friendly hotels and the guys behind it are Wales based. A post on their forum will yield lots of recommendations.

Roch castle has secure parking, let me know if you come down and I’ll give you some pointers, but be aware lots of the roads have grass up the middle and oncoming tractors!

Roch Castle as already mentioned and a nice pub in walking distance, electric gates on entrance.

Loved Roch Castle. We stayed in the Ap Gruffydd room which I recommend. Also there is an offer of 3 nights for 2. Also their sister hotel is in St. David’s and I recommend the high tea. I am sure if you asked they will ferry you between the two.

You might also want to try the Trefiddian at Aberdovey. They have a garage (at extra cost) - a throwback to the 30's. Has space for several cars. That said, the normal car park is remote and not visible from the road (up a long ramp) and it's usually possible to park in an area away from other cars unless really busy.

Interesting mountain road from Llanidloes (on A470) to Machynlleth on the way there (or back) if you have time.

Choose a room with sea view; if you are golfer there's a course between the hotel and the sea. Take your beach gear too, a wind break is recommended.

Have fun!

Inland but llangoed hall hotel is well worth a visit. Maybe as a stopover?

They do host a few meets there from time to time.

Stopped at The Wild Pheasant Hotel & Spa in Llangoed on a Aston driving trip, couldn't fault it, plenty of parking, although we did leave before breakfast which is my usual bench mark for judging any hotel. rotate
