AM V8 Convertible
Discussion
I'm told that the Volante will be introduced in Geneva (March 2006).
I've put some official drawings of the car (from the patent office website) on a previous topic :

Looks great.....are they 'official' drawings?
I'm sure it will look great in the metal....considering the coupe, it has to. Lets hope it's more rigid than the DB9 Volante.
I was told mid '06 for the volante.....so I signed up!
As it is an official Ford document, I believe it is official.
You can find the design as registered on this website :
www.patent.gov.uk/index.htm
Then select "designs" and click on "search our records", click on "images" and start the search. On the next window just select "proprietor: FORD", and "combination: proprietor only". You will get the latest designs registered by Ford, it seems that the AM V8 Volante is the last one.

if you buy the Marks and Spencer DVD on Aston martin (and accompanying book by Pistonhead member Andrew Noakes) you can clearly see, in the background a full size clay design for the V8 Vantage Volante- ansd that was produced this time last year
(please note: its not a convertable. This hasnt been used since 1964. Its Volante)

It seems to me that, as Aston Martin themselves refer to the open top DB9 as "The DB9 Convertible (Volante)".....it would be reasonable to refer to the Vantage open-top as "convertible" until it is confirmed as being called "Volante"
BTW "Volante" means "flying" !!
Anyway....many of you going for one?......should look good.
