Hey, I hope I'm not flooding the forum with all my different topics...
I've my N420 that I drive daily. The N420, to my understanding, opens vavle earlier than non N420 V8V 4.7.
Mine opens exhaust valves at roughly 3200rpm.
It's equivalent to 133kmh on highway in 6th gear.
Don you know if there is a way to 'reprogram' or 'remap' the trigger RPM? Like maybe at 4000rpm?
Thanks

Correct, it's 3200-3300 RPM. I found it perfect, as if you just go at the speed limit (130 km/h), they stay close. On the non-N420 it is way higher, like 4500/5000 RPM.

I think there might be some valve remote system that might actually let you close them all the time to not annoy the neighbours and so on, but not sure. The system I had in place ( Clive's famous CC Charger kit) was simply to have them open all the time.

The best solution is to fit (if you are good with electrics), or have fitted, a 3-way switch.
I think the appropriate wiring is in the centre tunnel near the gear lever.
The three position rocker switch can be located completely out of sight under the central tunnel trim, just forward of the gear lever (or where it would be, SportShift).

You will then have complete control of the exhaust valves.
The 3 settings being, OEM; Always Open; Always Closed.

I previously had the remote control system connecting to fuse 22/15, but that cannot work in Always Closed mode.
Always Closed is helpful for removing the slight exhaust drone sound, heard in the cabin when on steady motorway driving.

Hi Dewi2
Yes, it's exactly for the buzz sound when I drive like 3h on the highway. I would like to cruise more at 140kph but I don't otherwise I can listen at some good music correctly.
Thanks

I had my Sport button repurposed to have manual control of the exhaust valves.

Sport on = valves open, Sport off = valves closed.

Perfect because I have full control and can do stealth starts when required.

Clive’s CC Charger is what you need. £50 and 2 mins to fit. No wiring in a hard switch or altering existing switchgear. Simple remote to have them OEM-Full time open-Full time closed.

Please explain how a remote switch connected through fuse 22/15, can achieve Always Closed.
The CC Charger remote that I had would not do it.

I think our OP wants to be able to use the Always Closed position.

I thought it would be an ugly toggle but that switch almost looks OEM
