Yes i remember when they were launched, a really nice and truly limited edition of 8 cars. Much more "special" than some of the other "limited" editions.

Full spec details here: https://astonmartins.com/car/v12-vantage-s-spitfir...

Simon Lane who at the time was the Dealer Principal at AM Cambridge was the brainchild behind these cars. He does occasionally pop up in this forum now and then. The cars were later grouped in to the AM Wings Series as all of the different models, V8 Vantage S, V12 Vantage S, Vanquish S and DBSS had aviation connections. This is the PH thread that was created when the V12 Vantage S Spitfire 80 cars were first released. Lots of details in there. Enjoy. BRM.

Yes. But one of the V12 specials, not V8.

Good to see you back here Simon. I really enjoyed the video you did recently with The Intercooler. It was fascinating to hear your take on things based on your own experiences. And I’d like to wish you good luck with your new venture. Very cool indeed!

clap

Just a quick question Simon , did you prefer the Vantage Spitfire concept over the Red Arrows Vanquish edition ?

Let me know when it has at least 2x 20mm Hispano's in it.

Couldn’t agree more , the Vanquish Red Arrows model whilst a cracking limited edition , I personally never thought the red paintwork didn’t show the Vanquish at its best.

One of my favourite cars in one of the best specs of all time. I remember it being shown in Evo. Jaw dropping.

The only SportShift example (my preferred ‘box option for the VH Vantage) was for sake for ages with a specialist around 5(?) years ago. I saw it drop in price over the months. When it got to £145k from memory, I was sorely tempted. And then it was sold.

As it turns out, I bought the only spec I rate above it. But I would be sooo happy to own that SportShift Spitfire. The details are incredible right down the to floor mats. That yellow stripe on the side is so well judged!

Congrats on getting that car to market, Simon. Just glad I’ve seen several of them, and the entire Wings collection thanks to Adrian.

PS - there was a good YT video of the handover day. Worth a watch.

The sole sports-shift Spitfire edition was at the London concours earlier this year. In the background of the photo below. Very nice too.
