PS4S to Conti Sport Contact 7 - any experience?

I fitted PS4S to my '07 Vantage when I first bought the car back in 2021 to replace the awful 8 year old rear and 11 year old(!) front Bridgestones that were fitted. I've put about 12,000 miles on the Michelins since then and they still have about 4mm of tread, but they've started tram-lining and squirming, so I think they'll be up for replacement later this year or early next. I have a Scotland road trip planned for early October that will add another 1500-2000 miles and will probably finish the Michelins off.

I've read a few very positive tests on the new Conti SC7, which say that it's a step up (albeit small) from the PS4S. Has anyone made the switch - what are your thoughts?

The Contis are usefully cheaper, but if the PS4S are still the tyre to have, I've got no problem spending the extra cash

PS - my car has the 235 / 275 combination (fitted to the 20 spoke wheels from the later 4.7) - is there any tangible benefit to going to 245/285 fitment?

Not on the Vantage, but on my old Mustang I changed to Sport contact 7s and found them excellent, as a bonus they’re cheaper too, I’ll be buying them again when needed

I had SC7 front and PS4S rear on my F-Type and found that a perfect combination.
The SC7 have a little more immediate steering response.
I’m on 20” wheels on my AM6 Vantage so unfortunately don’t have the choice of SC7 or PSS5.
I hate the full lock tyre skip of the cold PZ standard fit so may go to a generic PS4S when the time comes.
In your situation I’d certainly give a set of SC7 a try.

By all acounts the SC7 are excellent tyres and easily as good as PS4s

The PS4s for your AM6 will remove the full lock skip when the Pirelli's are cold ... I still have the Pirelli on mine as I do like the way the car feels on them but when time comes for a change I will hope the SC7 are available if not then it will be PS4s. A friend had his changed as soon as he collected his AM6, had PS4s fitted and it stopped the tyre skip.

Night and day difference, even with the Bridgestone Blizzak winters, let alone PS4S.

(I know it’s s not S, but on the previous F-Type forum people used to assume I meant PS4’s)

Have them on my 2016 N430 and so far really impressed with them both dry and wet conditions.

I get tyre skip on my PS4S on full lock in reverse

Looks like SC7 will be my next tyre then - cheaper than the PS4S were four years ago - £674 + delivery for 235/275 from Camskill

Recently changed from Bridgestones to CS7 and the difference - in all weathers - is very noticeable (for the better)

I've had SportContact7s on my M6 and now my RS5, very highly rated and a good price on them. They are my preferred option these days.
