Vantage launch party last night
Discussion
Hi all. First time poster.
Was at the Reg Vardy Vantage launch last night with my wife. It was at the Baltic art gallery at Gateshead.
They really pushed the boat out - loads of people invited, plenty of drinks and food.
But the cars overshadowed all the hospitality. Absolutely stunning. Three cars in total. Two were left-hand drive, which the Aston marketing manager explained were the press cars. They were in dark silver (tungsten, I think), metallic blue, and metallic red. Got to say that the red one looked superb.
Watched in horror as one (drunk) guest, who clearly thought the sat nav in the dash was some kind of glove box which he couldn't open, jammed his fingers under the lid and rived it up, snapping it off. Moron.
Enjoyed my first sit in the car - seemed set up nicely. Felt like a good driving position, and the seat was very comfortable. The boot is smaller than I'd thought, but hey, no-one'll be put off by that.
Just a shame that there were no keys knocking about, and that the starter buttons didn't seem to work!!!
Found out that the first dealer demonstrators are due in the next few days - form an orderly queue!

Hi Nick, have you ordered a Vantage from Paul at Reg vardy, or were you just along to have a look? I couldn't make that event, but I had a quick sit in a car elsewhere and am mightily impressed (I had a client who was thinking of buying one - still is!) I am just waiting for Paul to let me know when his demonstrator arrives!

Hi William
Yes, I've been dealing with Paul since I put my name down for a car in Jan 2003. I've been given a build date of January so not too long to wait now. It's Reg Vardy's allocation number 007 (might be apt!).
You missed a good party at the Baltic - they put on a good night. I'm presuming you must be based in the north east too?

I was based t'up north for a time, now I'm up and down a lot. But I've kept in touch with Paul as he's a very pleasant guy to deal with. It would be great to see the car when it finally arrives - lets just hope that it doesn't have the same build delays that affected the DB9.
Many congrats on ordering such a fantastic car - it has recently been added to my 'must own one day' list.
Best wishes,
William
