Given the choice of a V8 Vantage or a DB9 which would you take?

I know just how epic the V8 is supposed to be but I've got the Top Gear race to Monaco on right now and the DB9 is just so right, so utterly drop dead gorgeous from every angle.

I could still see myself choosing the DB9 even if if didn't have the power and didn't handle just because it looks so damn good.

If price isn't an issue, DB9. There is just something special about a big V12. It's probably an even easier decision if you want an automatic transmission.

I really wanted to get a car with a manual 6-speed, and the V8 was the best looking and most desirable performance car that I could stretch my budget to fit.

DB9 please.

Especially if they ever launch a "GT/S/Vantage" version

Sold the DB9 for a V8.

Love the '9' to bits as a Grand Tourer, but I crave the better, tighter handling that the V8 will offer.
Also I think the soundtrack on the V8 is EVEN better than the V12

BUT , I wouldn't begrudge anyone for thinking the opposite. This is just my personal preference.

Also no good for the B&Q run. You'll never get 2 bags of cememnt, a 25ltr pot of Emulsion and some barbeque bricks behind the seat of the V8

Hi All
New member here.
Totally agree with Shadytree about V8 over DB9. Have owned a DB9 and to heavy a GT car for my purposes. Going down to Gaydon tomorrow on V8 tour/speccing trip - any tips???
Going in my 997S cab, will they let me through the gate LOL?
Am looking forward to joining in the discussions on thid forum.

I think options wise most people are ticking all the boxes...19" alloy, full leather, sat-nav etc (to help re-sale values if nothing else).

Then it's just down to your colour-combo. Seems everyone on here is going for Pistonheads Black

HI TT
Thanks for your quick reply. Dare I say that I'm thinking of going for black as well. In pics I've seen it just looks so gorgeous. Regarding interior (I know its down to me) but can't decide between creme(don't know what stiching) or black(with red or silver stiching.
What are the platinum silver interior fittings?

It does look stunning in black......although I think I'd be tempted with a dark, dark green (such as Pentland).

Personally, I don't like light interiors, although the saddle tan (like the concept car) is stunning (saw it at the Goodwood Revival). I reckon you can't go wrong with black leather with silver stitching. Oh, and dark carpets too.

I'm not sure about the platinum fittings....but I love the piano black laquer look available in the '9 along with the "silverised" centre console.

Let us know what you choose
