Solar trickle charging on DB11?
Discussion
Hi, I've got an DB11 V12 as my daily and is parked on street (so no access to power points). I'm increasingly finding I am away for 2-3 weeks and every time this happens I get a dead battery.
1st time I got the battery replaced, since then I've used a Noco jump pack which works well but I'm wondering if there is a way I can hook up a solar trickle charger to avoid this?
Some setups I've seen on early 2000s cars seem to go into the cigarette plug but I'm worried if this will cause issues in more modern vehicles.
Does anyone have any experience or recommend any particular setup equipment? Will this actually solve my issue?

I thought the newer models like your DB11 came with optional CTEK magnetic charge ports ? otherwise one of the 12vDC sockets will usually be live, specifically for charging. In my Vantage thats the boot 12vDC port. No issues with using it, its designed for the purpose of charging. You can close the boot and enable alarm with charge cable connected.
CTEK offer a charger called CS Free which is cordless and has an optional solar panel kit for exactly the scenario describe. Not used it myself but gets good online reviews.

Thanks I'll have a look for that solar kit. Yes mine has the magnetic connector at the back, I assumed that would mean having the solar panel on the outside though. On street parking I doubt it would last long sadly.
For the magnetic option I’m assuming he meant you could plug it in to an exterior socket. I suppose someone could still nick the ctek though.I suspect if you are worried about the charger unit or indeed the external solar unit being stolen or just disconnected assuming both “ outside “ the car then your options are either to get the expensive CTEK one which once fully charged can be left inside the vehicle presumably and connected to a suitable socket.
It then needs to be removed occasionally to be charged up.
Alternatively look perhaps at the stand alone solar charger panels that sit on the dashboard and can be connected using a socket.
