My new to me 2005 DB9 side bottom bolsters are killing my hip bones, does anybody have a fix for this? If not are there other seats that can be swapped? I'm 6'4" 250, but I played in college at 235 and played point guard, so not out of shape, but dang this is crazy narrow. Help!? Makes my C6 Vette feel like a caddy.

The later seats are differently shaped and reportedly more comfortable - I have 2008 seats in my 2006 DB9 with no issues.

The wiring needs to be sorted when swapping to later seats though

I assume wiring diagrams available for both seats? If so I can figure out, made Caddy power seats work in 1957 Pontiac, so can't be terribly hard.
Was Hoping someone had a fix to seat- I've been thinking about putting a carefully placed Hydraulic ram between the 2 bolster with appropriate padding and try and bend the frame a bit, likely only need a 1/2" on both sides.

My DB9 has the same seats as yours, they are the same as the V8 vantage I had which were exactly
as you describe quite uncomfortable.
My cure for the comfort on the DB9 has I`m afraid been Ozempic and a fair old reduction in my backside.

Not sure I would qualify for Ozempic, as I'm only 15 lbs heavier than I was when I was 20 and playing Major College Basketball. I have lots of issues fitting in cars, but the dimensions of these cars is very close to the Corvette C6, which I've had several and was always comfy, getting in and out at age 70 is another story!
Time to get out a bigger hammer!

Try working next to a cake shop for 3 years. I did get a leather covered wedge made at a local upholsterer and that did work in the vantage but i`m only six one so enough height.
good luck in your quest but isn`t the DB9 great

It's Great, just need to figure out how to get comfortable, but we'll figure it out. I may remove rear seat bottom and build some brackets to move seats back a bit, then modify the seat bottom a bit.

The best answer would seem to be to get some seats from a later DB9 or Vantage.

The unasked question is how a car with a price tag of £100K+ left the production line with such uncomfortable seats in the first place!

My DB9 is 2007 and fortunately has better seats. The one I tried for a short while in a 2005 model was excruciating.

Almost impossible to find a set of newer Aston seats in USA, just as it was almost impossible to find any 2006/2007/2008 DBs for sale, seemed like we have 2005s and 2009s mostly. I'm going to have to modify or put in aftermarket or Corvette seats it seems

'But Mr Derek!' as Basil Brush would have said, 'You can't put Corvette seats in an Aston!'

I appreciate parts aren't as plentiful in the US as in the UK; would you consider importing seats from a scrapped Aston?

Unfortunately that won't work, I thought of that as well, but RH drive seats are different than LH drive seats completely, so probably not a great option. I so love the car, but I have to fix the damn seat option somehow!
I feel like Shaq trying to fit in cars that he shouldn't, lol

I just checked on (european) ebay, there are a few post-2007 on the market, cost ~2000 Euro a pair.
You may want to give them a try.

BTW, I think LHD and RHD should be the same seats, the only exception may be the seat frame (as some passenger seats did not have height adjustment. The only difference between seats I am aware of is with/without memory they differ in the frame/electric.
AFAIK you should be able to swap the seat between frames of the left/right varyiety.
Swapping frames between with/without memory varyiety should also be possible, only the electric motor for the back incline may require some fiddling.

Or, of course, you can fit the seat youre comfy in onto the stock seat frame....

I'm not sure, but I looked on Scuderia and they are different parts listed for RH and LH-one thing would be location of heated seat switch, Also the passenger and driver frames are listed separate as well, which leads me to believe there are 4 different frames/seats for these cars( I know on Corvettes the frames are tweaked and if you flip them side-side it looks very funny). I spent some time on it today and was able to tweak the outside bolster about a 1/2 inch with a turn buckle setup of the tunnel. I have no derived a way to do the inside bolster yet, it's already better, but another 1/2-3/4" would be great!

Maybe I was somewhat imprecise...
LH and RH seat are different (heat switch and airbag location)
but LHD and RHD car seat pairs should be identical
On the frames LH vs RH, maybe, not sure (I have one sitting in my garage, which looks fully symmetric).

However, as long as you use the existing ones, it should be fine.

Tr,
Where are the heated seat switches on each seat in a RHD car? The LDH seats are on console side. Are you thinking that your Passenger seat would be the same as our Driver seat? If so we might have an option

On the console side. But does it actually matter which side they're on?

I would think you wouldn't want on outside on the drivers due to the Parking brake, but if they are symmetrical then could just use a Euro passenger as driver and driver as passenger. Good news would be getting a less worn seat on driver side and less used on the more worn one for passenger.

Ah yes, that thing. I never use the it, nor the heated seat switches!
