Seriously, i don’t see what they really offer.

The SUV looks like a Kuga, the vantage looks like a Mazda. Interiors are rubbish and the big GT’s are embarrassing.

They almost have a Toyota like piss soaked image and it seems like it’s only men of a certain age who buy them.

Wouldn't say no to a Valkyrie roadster or the new Vanquish TBH. Both of these look incredible and show that Aston can produce excellent cars.

You haven't driven a DB12 have you? Very much up there with all it's contemporaries and IMO nicer looking.

Might be worth skipping that last pint at lunch hehe

If they produce cars people want to buy, they will stay in business. If they don't sell cars, they won't.

As there are quite a large number of fairly wealthy "men of a certain age" about, it's probably not a bad target market.

If everyone only bought cars for entirely practical purposes, there would only be Toyotas and possibly a few Kias on the road.

I like the older ones but they're not drivers car anymore and far too big. V600 Le Mans the last Aston I lked. 89 Vantage before that. Recently I do like the 2010 DBS think about buying one but never press the button for some reason. The modern Aston I agree I can not understand target markets. They look stunning but are massive cars.

I honestly feel like Aston are getting back on track from a cars point of view. With the current lineup being very good and even the new Vanquish has given Ferrari a bloody nose in a few tests.

Their financing and overall sales success is a tough one but honestly I want them to succeed.

Whats the point of Ferrari or Bentley? All these premium manufacturers exist to create a product that is better than the average car.

Unsurprisingly here comes the sort of racism that you’d anticipate

I don't think I'd ever buy one but if you want a big GT who else do you go to?

Ferrari have lost the plot with the 12C. It's also twice the price.
Lamborghini not in that game, presumably not blingy enough for the rental companies.
Bentley is a bit more your grandad's slippers.
Maserati? Might as well burn the cash.
Porsche? At £200k+ that's a very expensive VW.

It's a question their various bankruptcy administrators over the years have pondered.

Your OP is more ageist and sexist than Turboman was racist…

You clearly haven’t paid attention to the performance cars Toyota put out either.

For me the point was that Aston Martin offered a more elegant and understated alternative to Ferrari and Lamborghini for someone who wanted something as special but didn't want to look quite so shouty. However, the drug dealer wheels with stupidly low profile tyres and muscular styling on the current crop kind of undermines that principal. For me the 2005 V8 Vantage and DB9 were the sweet spot.

I'm pretty sure 90% of their customers have always been old farts cosplaying at being James Bond, hence the near mandatory "007" manged into the numberplate somehow hehe

They certainly seem to have fallen back from the high point of the 00s and 10s VH cars, as others have said they were a less shouty and more tasteful alternative but seem to have lost their way a little.

It wouldn't be AML if it wasn't right on the edge of bankrupcy at all times though.

To be honest if I wanted to chuck £100-200k at a new or used SUV I would seriously consider a DBX over its rivals and my guilty pleasure is browsing Autotrader ads for Rapides. Then again I am a man of a certain age!
