Hi everyone,

The joystick or 'Enter' button on my 2010 DBS only seems to function in the vertical plane ie up and down as well as the 'enter' button working. It moves freely horizontally, but it does not react on either the Sat Nav or the radio, limiting my ability to operate either unit. Before I start taking it apart, has anyone else had this issue and was it just a loose ribbon cable? The garage I just bought it from is a 4.5 hour drive away, so I only want to take it back down South as a last resort.

Thanks

Steve

Yes, but not as bad. Moving the joystick to the right it would sometimes not do anything, requiring a second, harder push

Afraid not. It required a complete new facia unit, as the joystick itself was the problem and this is an integral part of the main moulding, even though the other switches aren't. Price was in the £000's, but it was eventually fixed under my Timeless extended warranty. Hope yours isn't as bad.

It turns out that the switch just needed a little switch cleaner, it's now working a treat :-) Thank goodness!

A happy result.
I'm assuming my MD tried this before they persuaded the warranty guys to authorise a new unit - although perhaps the additional work and parts sale might indicate a financial preference for a replacement. redcard
