Just wondering if there is any need to do this on a V12 DB11 if it’s been sitting a while. And if so, how?

This feature isn't on the 2nd century cars. IIRC it was on the n/a V8s as they were semi-dry sump design to get the engine as low as possible, but it doesn't explain why the wet sump n/a V12s might have also got it.

It worked on my 2009 DBS. Push the throttle pedal to the floor and keep it there, then press start. It won't fire; it just cranks.

OP CAREFUL

Calinours above stated not 2nd century cars ie. including DB11.
The engine would start at full revs, if the crank only feature is not present.

Yeah, that worked on my Virage, but interestingly a different procedure on my Vanquish 1. I won't try it on the DB11.

Thanks Jon

For the sake of absolute clarity it does not work on DB11. Do not press pedal to floor and press the engine start button when red on any of the turbocharged (2nd century) cars.
