I stumbled across an interesting car dimensions website.

https://www.carsized.com/en/cars/compare/aston-mar...

I wanted to compare the VH Vantage with the new Vanquish, but the website is not yet listing the Vanquish.
The two superimposed side views show differences at a glance.

For fun, let's try a Fiat 500 vs Audi Q8.

It would be interesting to view how the Fiat 500 original model compares in size to the latest version, the same with the Mini.

Though it doesn't look that much in 2D, when they are side by side, in real life the DB11 looks much bigger than the Vantage.

For the extreme examples, when width (and therefore volume) is also factored in, the old stuff looks like tiny toys in comparison to modern cars. There's a long thread about this very subject on PH...

mind - there is one car from back in t'day that still holds its own even in modern company... hehe

Thats a great site, really useful.

When I picked up my car earlier this year from the dealers it was sat next to a new DB12 and latest Vantage, they both looked the next size up.....the DB12 certainly is with back seats, quite a bit longer and wider, but also the new Vantage another 4" wider still...and all the later cars are wearing 1" or 2" bigger wheels and tyres to go with the extra size.

I can only assume manufacturers know something about our governments' plans for road widening and increasing the standard size of a parking place in the UK wink
