DB11 Park Override
Discussion
Does a Park Override capability even exist for the DB11? I have spent too much time RTFM and searching the internet trying to find this. I found the one short YouTube video about crawling under the car and screwing a bolt in the transmission case. Can't find anything about a Park Release inside the car like other cars have. I just want to be prepared. I don't want to be trying to figure this out on the side of the road with a tow truck driver breathing down my neck! Thanks
Sorry but there's no access from inside the car, you do have to remove the cap head (allen) screw from its holding position and screw it into the hole next to it which allows it to disable the solenoid lock.
It is quite simple though, if you want to be prepared just put the car on a ramp and practise it a couple of times so you can reach under with your allen key and do it from memory if you are stuck. You can even carry around a spare allen bolt to remove half the operation. Handy to know as many recovery drivers won't do this, they will just drag the car onto the flatbed possibly risking damage to the pawl/interlock.
I found the video you reference - for anyone else who is interested.
