Went to look for a vantage 2020. Impressions

Hi,
This car is one of the most beutiful cars out there. I knew that before and wasn't surprised looking at it from close range.
While in sport+ or track, the sound on he outside is unbelivable. No idea how it had passed the European regulations :-)
On the other hand, it is too quiet on the inside. I knew that watching some yotube reviews but wanted to hear it myslelf. Yes, you hear the engine. Yes, you hear the pops and bangs. Yes, Aston Martin isn't using car speakers to enhance the sound like in my 2023 BMW M4 but the difference between the inside and the outside is huge.
As for driving dynamics, I knew that it is not a proper sports car like my former Porsche Cayman S but while changing gear from 1 to 2 and from 2 to 3 (sometimes even from 3 to 4) the rear end break loose. Some of you might say that this is all the fun but many car jurnalists said that it is a hooligan on track and this is less what I'm looking for :-)
Its fast but not faster than my M4. The main issue here is the price. Saw some threads here that claimed that owning an Aston isn't cheap and here it is even worst (As new at 2020 the car's price was 318,460 pounds). Now, after 4 years it is still not cheap at 146491 pounds. Service is not a lot more expensive than my BMW but if a main part breaks, it can cost a lot!!
To sum up, I can understand why people are buying this car. As mentioned, it is one of the most beutiful cars out there. Realy! But might not be for me :-(

Your M4 has way better tyres, they have a special star spec Michelin 4S which is close to Cup 2 Connect. You probably had 4 year old Pirellis on the Vantage.
For sound, get the Roadster. Handles just as well, slightly better ride and the sound with top down is of course fantastic. Also a way more engaging and fun car than the G series M4 which is pretty boring unless you are really on it.

Fact is the M4 is better in every measurable dynamic - except emotion and the fact it simply isn't an Aston. Simply testing driving them won't get you the feeling and emotion that comes with owning one. If you want performance you need a McLaren but owning an Aston just is special and very difficult to quantify that emotion.
As stated the VERY first mod when you get an Aston is to get some PS4S tyres on it!

You're right about the tyres. They are, indeed, 4 years old Pirellis. So you're claiming that with newer Michelins it won't break loose? For sound, get the Roadster. When saying that the G82 is boring, you're probably relating to the looks and engin/exhost sound, right? Because on track I don't think that the Aston is better.

I can relate to that. I'll sure enjoy the Aston on a daily basis but when going to the track I'll be dissapointed. McLaren is out of the question. We do not have dealership here and the price can get to 500K pounds. As stated the VERY first mod when you get an Aston is to get some PS4S tyres on it!

You might want to look at a previous generation VH V12. If you can find a low mileage one. Far more beautiful and glorious exhaust note. It can’t compare to your BMW in technology, bet 100% more special.
Aston Martin dealership had been established here in 2015. At prices over 210,000 pounds, I would be surprised if they are selling more than 10 cars a year. I haven't seen one in the second hand boards.AstonV said:
My guess would be Singapore?
Nope :-) AstonV said:
Love Israel!
Would it be difficult to import from Europe or the US?
The issue is with the taxes here. 116% by the governament on cars.Would it be difficult to import from Europe or the US?
You can save some money by getting it on your own but it won't be cheap either.
From the US is not an option because of the regulations. I know someone who bought a new Infinity G37 (long time ago) and the regulations here told him to replace so much stuff so he gave up and sold it in the US as second hand :-(
Israel is compliant to European regulations.
