AM Specialist Bristol / South West
Discussion
Hi all,
I am new to the AM world, and have entered with the purchase of a 2011 4.7 Vantage Roadster. The car has been used as a daily and so mechanically has been well looked after by Bamford Rose, I am looking for any recommendations for specialists closer to Bristol. I note there is David Appleby Engineering in Wellington, who are just over an hour from me - anyone have experience of these guys?
If not it will be Dick Lovett who are the local main dealer, although I have a BMW as my daily driver, and I do try to avoid Dick Lovett and go over the bridge to Sytner Newport, so I maybe better going to AM Cheltenham (HR Owen)?
All ideas welcome, but preferably within an hour or so of Bristol. Apologies if this has been covered before, but all I could find was SE based specialists.
Thanks.
P.s. I will also be looking to tend to the paintwork on the bumper in due course, so recommendations for these also welcome. I would consider travelling further afield for these, as hopefully they will be a one off!

Firstly, congratulations and as always, we always request a photo !!
AM Bristol are really good and so are DAE. I would recommend them both and have had continued great service over the years I have owned my 2006 Vantage. I've struck up friendships with both Kyle from AM Bristol and James from DAE and what they don't know about Astons, isn't worth knowing.
I would also recommend Brin Jones in Filton Bristol for paint. They have done some work on my Aston before and the amount of effort they went to getting a perfect colour was definitely above and beyond what I would usually expect.

Another vote for DAE…. They spotted problems that BR missed completely during a £2k service & MOT (including a broken spring!!!) and were an absolute pleasure to deal with. Their facilities are truly impressive with a huge stock of parts. You could easily spend half a day in their very comfortable customer waiting room while they perform an annual service - sofa, Wi-Fi, TV etc.
I travel from north of Birmingham to DAE - for someone living near Bristol, it’s a no-brainer.

+1 for DAE from me - they have looked after my 4.3 since i purchased 18 months or so ago and subsequently had looked after it prior doing both clutch and subframe prior to my ownership. Its almost a 2 hour drive for me from south Wales but totally worth the trip. James and the team there are first class.
