Vanquish Gen2 Taillight Issue
Discussion
Hi everyone,
Bit of a long time lurker on the forum. But I was hoping for some advice on an issue I have on the tail lights of my Gen2 Vanquish.
For some reason the tail light on the right hand side is always bright as if the brakes are on. The left had side works as normal.
Any ideas why this would be and potential fixes? Hopefully not a replacement of the whole tail light cluster!
Thanks!

A little diagnostics first. You say the right-hand side is bright; does it stay the same when you apply the brakes, or does it get even brighter? So is your right-hand brake light actually on all the time?Bit of a long time lurker on the forum. But I was hoping for some advice on an issue I have on the tail lights of my Gen2 Vanquish.

(I think on the Vanquish the whole “boomerang” is illuminated when the lights are on, and the whole “boomerang” gets brighter when the brakes are applied, along with the CHMSL illuminating).
Depending what the answer is, the next step might be removing the RH boot trim to access the lamp, disconnecting the plug and doing some tests with a multimeter to see what the car is supplying to the lamp.
My left rear failed when my batt went dead and a defective charger was used. It caused a couple different component failures including the power amp and the lamp unit. Couldn’t get the lamp repaired (did with the amp) after trying several sources. The internals are incredibly complicated, preventing repair by skilled techs. $7k for a new one in the US.
Thanks LTP.
I probably should have explained that better. When the brakes are pressed the right taillight doesn't change (as it is already bright) but the left side does get brighter. When the brakes are released the right side is still bright while the left side goes back to normal illumination around the entire boomerang. So effectively the right tail light break light is on all the time.
As you suggested I'll remove the trim and test out the lamp itself. Thanks!
DB9VolanteDriver, that's bad news about your light. I'll make sure to be careful with my battery conditioner! I'm hoping I'm not up for USD 7k for a new light!
