Please help my sanity - I've just been to fill up my Vantage, although I didn't....

With the car unlocked you push the fuel cap in and it pops open? That's what I expected to happen but I pushed it and it just went in further. I haven't filled up for a month or so, so then frantically checked I didn't forget a button inside. I didn't have anything on me to try and prize it open so have just popped home and it's opened freely using a plastic lever.

I'm thinking something has disappeared inside? (see round metal hole) in following photo as it also no longer locks....

You are missing the small plastic piece on the left side. It's where the latch spring rests. Should be a very easy fix from your dealer.

Brilliant - thank you.

I've spoken to Hatfield and they said that it sounds like the actuator has fallen into the wheel lining. They reckon it'll take about an hour to fix so fairly quick, just need to get there.

Upon collecting my car, my dealer told me to apply very light pressure when opening and closing the fuel filler door. It's not uncommon for the actuator to break loose.
