Hey guys, new owner of my first Aston, a DB11 AMR.

Does anyone have car seat recommendations?

My children will rarely be in the car but when they do...

I have a 2 and 4 year old, thanks.

I’m picking up a 2019 V12 DB11 next week and plan on using the rear seats!

I’ve got half a dozen car seats so will see if any of them fit and report back. smile

I did!

So the good news - for me - is that my 8 & 9 year olds fit perfectly without car seats. I’ve seen hatchbacks with far less leg room.

The bad news, is that I seem to have thrown all the backs away from my car seats and only kept the Isofix bases. The Cybex M Fix SL fits neatly into the bucket and I’ve no real reason to think the back wouldn’t fit as well, although it might need to be fairly upright. I do have a complete one at my parents’ house so if I get chance I’ll try that in there as well.

Anyway, you can see here how the base fits….(Yes my carpets look gold; no they’re not gold! And yes my daughter’s seat is filthy, I don’t even know how they get like that as they don’t eat or drink in the car!)

Not a DB11 but I've used a Britax Romer Trifix 2 i-size isofix seat in a 991 and an FF OK. It is hard to fit and even harder to remove though!

Thanks! I’m loving mine, too. It’s got the AMR upgrade, although not a ‘proper’ AMR, and the sound is fantastic! So far I’ve got no regrets going for (Onyx) black as it looks incredible when clean. The previous owner had got it PPFd and ceramic coated so it’s in incredible condition for a five year old car.

Anyway, I digress…… this is the seat on Amazon.

If you give me a few days I’ll try one of the fully intact seats I have at my parents’ house and see how the back fits.

Thanks so much, what do you mean by yours isn't a "proper AMR"?

Don’t quote me on this, but from 2019 they made a few tweaks to the V12 and rebadged it as ‘AMR’.

Apparently it had a few improvements here and there, notably the engine had 30bhp more, it was noisier and they’d done something with the suspension. It’ll say AMR on the door cills and the headrests and is generally a bit sportier.

They then offered an AMR ‘upgrade’ to existing V12s. It’s basically a remap so you get all the power and noise gains but, I guess, none of the other tweaks. You also get a nice little engine placard.

So mine was built as an original 2019 V12 but then someone has paid for the upgrade somewhere along the lines.

Given that I’ve been glued to Autotrader for the last four months I’m guessing I’ll have seen - and no doubt been tempted by - yours. It’s not the one with red seats from Bristol, is it?

AMR is 10% stiffer than the standard car due to some hardware differences, lightweight forged wheels, basically a more sporty ride. Also some bits like AMR on the headrests. With the software upgrade on the standard DB11 you get the AMR power increase and software based suspension tweaks.

I am currently touring southern France and Spain in my AMR and have to say it is sublime at everything, except some of the narrow D roads. DB11 V12 is a fantastic machine in either guise.

So I have a newer 2020 AMR and I must admit it's a real squeeze.

I grabbed one of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07ZG83CP1/ref...

But the depth of the seat comes over the actual seat itself and therefore i have to drive very close to the wheel.

Has anyone found a good solution for a 2 year olds seat?

Few years back I bought a bmw 6 series convertible and with two small children had the same issue. Bmw did a seat that fittedin the back properly. Some time later I sold it to a french chap who had a vanquish s in paris for the same purpose. Although that seat is no longer being made it might be worth investigating some of the brands that do a 2+2 coupe and see if they sell car seats for those as they may well fit the db11.
