Mine has already been replaced once but it was by the PO. Has anyone done this who can advise on how DIYable it is? Fairly handy with trim tools etc…

Thanks all!

Straight forward: you will need a trim removal tool

Remove the Interior Trim:Locate the interior trim panel on the inside of the boot/trunk lid.Use the trim removal tools to carefully pry off the trim panel. Be gentle to avoid breaking any clips.Set the trim panel aside in a safe place.

Disconnect the Brake Light:Once the trim panel is removed, you should see the wiring harness connected to the third brake light.Disconnect the wiring harness by pressing the release tab and pulling the connector apart.

Remove the Old Brake Light:The brake light is usually secured with screws or bolts. Use the appropriate screwdriver or socket set to remove these fasteners.Carefully remove the old brake light from its housing.

Install the New Brake Light:Place the new brake light in the housing and secure it with the screws or bolts you removed earlier.Reconnect the wiring harness to the new brake light.

Test the Brake Light:Before reassembling everything, test the new brake light to ensure it is functioning correctly. You can ask someone to press the brake pedal while you check the light or use a reflective surface to see if it lights up.

Reattach the Interior Trim:Once you have confirmed that the new brake light is working, reattach the interior trim panel.Press the trim panel back into place, ensuring all clips are securely fastened.

Thank you! The warning has gone away but I’m now wondering if it was the one on the top of the rear screen. It looks like that would be handled from the outside?
