Been getting a strange rattle from the rear of car, sounds like boot area, 2017 V8 Vantage Coupe. Have emptied everything from the boot including parcel shelf. Also looked under the car and cant see anything obvious. It’s also very infrequent mainly at low speed and that’s not because its drowned out by the engine at higher revs. Most common coming out of a slow left hander. Other than that I guess I’ll have to take it into the garage.

Any ideas or diagnostic tips welcome. Is there anything in the battery area under the shelf that can come loose?

Cheers,
Pete

Could be heat shields on exhaust under boot, both my Vantages have had this issue as the small bolts that secure them corroded away. Easy fix through the side when you take the wheels off.

Hi Pete, I have a 2017 V8VS coupe, also. I had a similar rattle to yours in left rear. Only heard it at low speeds. My initial thought was fuel flap. MD found, however, the entire left rear light unit was loose. Tightened it in place, and rattle banished.

If it is the rear light, don't overtighten, you will pull the body away from the lens and introduce a leaky light i.e condensation
