I was thinking of putting my Rapide S on a couple of wedding car sites.

Can anyone recommend insurance companies? My own insurer, Admiral, don't offer the hire and reward required. Adrian Flux wanted £5k which is a non-starter.

Thanks.

If you are going to do hire and reward, you need to register the vehicle as Private Hire with your Council. You will also need to be a badged PH driver and as you know, will need insurance for Hire and Reward. £5k isn't outrageous by the way.

Eta: You won't need to actually display the plate on the back of your car, most Councils give wedding and funeral cars exemption. But it will need to be in the boot.

You should also check if there are any age restrictions on the vehicle with your local Council.

As long as you have a daily, Footman James will insure any Aston as a classic and you can add limited wedding hire cover (and track days etc) at minimal cost.

I believe funerals and weddings are exempt from Private Hire licences, but I'm open to correction!

I'll try them, thanks.

If you plan on charging people for the service, you WILL need a Private Hire licence and vehicle plate. You will also need Public Liability insurance and the Hire and Reward insurance.

If you are just doing it for a favour for friends, then none of the above applies. It's when money changes hands that the complications begin.

What an absolute ball ache... I'll give it a miss in that case. Cheers.
