Hi,
Has anyone had dealings with astonparts247.com?

I ordered a >service kit< from them at a very reasonable price. [1st red flag]!

Paid via card online, got an email confirmation...

But then nothing for a few days, no dispatch confirmation etc. So I contacted them via email and their response was "you should receive it in a few days" - you can see where this is going can't you!

A few more days pass... so I email again.

Me: "Where's my $hit?" - I was a bit more diplomatic honest!

Them: "It was sent on Tuesday with evri next day delivery..."

Me: [cringe] "please send me the tracking number"

Them: "I’m out at the moment but will do as soon as I return..."

...I've since read a few 1 star reviews on Google and now I'm paranoid that Aston Parts 24-7 is some unscrupulous fake online store!

Will I ever see my parts or my money again? ...I'll keep you posted.

If you paid by credit card it will be their problem.

If you paid by credit card, then you should easily get your money back, so no problem.
However, if you used a debit card, you are at the mercy of your bank.

The saying when a problem occurs is:-
Use a credit card - you are in control.
Use a debit card - the bank is in control.

I stopped using debit cards following a problem. The bank refused to even take my phone call.

I've also had some success with raising disputes with banks where I've paid with debit card or even bank transfer.

All is not lost. Although if your stuff did get dispatched via Evri it probably is.

Your points are valid.

Nationwide have generally been excellent although they're a building society and I'm a member rather than a customer. First Direct have been mixed and Bank of Scotland are a waste of space.

I ordered a set of wheel center caps from them in Feb.
They shipped to the USA.
It took about 13 days before i got a "your order is complete" e-mail.
Never did get a tracking # but i did get my parts!

I've dealt with them and they're a bona fide business in Consett. https://astonparts247.com/

I have ordered parts from them twice in the past both times I had problems - first time parts did turn up after multiple promises and many weeks. Second time after waiting what I considered a reasonable time and getting the same excuses I cancelled the order - this was through eBay so got my money back without a problem.

Hmm, mixed experiences!

When you look on Google street view, their address takes you to some sort of office complex?

...I would've expected an industrial unit of some sort?!
One reviewer said they serviced his/her Aston ...where? in the office car park?

Depending on your Bank, if they have signed up to https://www.lendingstandardsboard.org.uk/crm-code/ you can raise a claim with the fraud department. I was scammed via FB Marketplace and it was a direct payment from my HSBC account when I raised the issue with the bank and gave them all the details within two hours and on a Saturday I was credited with the payment!

I usually order service kits from them. Their communication to customers is appalling. I had the same experience as the OP, ordered the kit and got the initial email but no confirmation of order, no delivery details etc. After chasing them my order eventually arrived. When I left a negative review the owner contacted me saying they had had a family bereavement etc and asking for me to take down the review. I wouldn't because it was my experience.

I made a few suggestions such as auto generated messages back to customers etc but by the sound of it they are not learning.

They are a genuine business but I have the the impression it is either a part time business, its one man who gets overwhelmed by the orders and just cannot cope, they can't get the bits from their suppliers etc.

I think they also use EVRI as their delivery company. Evri are the worlds worst delivery company.

I've used them twice. Once for 'stone guards' (front mudflap thingies) and one for an AC condenser.

Both orders arrived but the second one took quite a while. Seem like they need to up their admin performance.

Thanks for the replies people smile

I eventually got my order.

It had gotten "delayed" in Evri's (Hermes) system.

I guess Peter at Aston Parts 24-7 tried to help but there isn't much he can do when Evri are probably the most inept courier company in the country.

As others have mentioned, Aston Parts 24-7 could improve on their communication with customers with regard to delivery tracking or delivery times etc.
...and STOP USING EVRI biggrin deep breaths jester jester
