Am rather excited like a small child in a sweet shop. Few things to sort out but hopefully picking it up in a few days once the dealer has done full inspection, rectified a small fault with one of the indicator bulbs and put a fresh MOT on it.

1 Owner from new, big pile of service history, really pleased.

Very nice. And (to my eyes at least) none of the "lipstick" that spoiled the N420's & N430's

Was about to say the same, Kev.

I agree, nice dealership (bought my V8VS from them early last year).

OP, enjoy your new purchase!

Mix of Alcantara and leather with red contrasting stitching, which I really like and it was done to complement the Storm Black paint

Fortunately the gear sticks are at the steering wheel for more control.

Those Aston Martin 2000 point inspections - you'd think they'd have noticed the lack of a gearstick

Yep its a sportshift so there is no gearstick, I quite liked the paddles when I test drove it, only took a few changes with the paddles to get used to it, I have yet to try it in "D" where the TCU does the changes, but the auto blip on the down shift was a nice feature and better than my heel and toe attempts usually are in a manual car.

Beautifully specced car.

Sportshift is excellent once you’ve mastered it. Faster and more fun than a traditional manual.

D is probably best left unused however smile

Please Don't.

Or maybe do, and then you'll appreciate why so many people think the SportShift is bad. I assume, as yours is an 'N' car (apologies to Hyundai owners), that it has the 7-speed SSII?

No its a 2010 car so its the 6 speed sportshift, rather than the 7 speed sportshift II

I'm not fussed if "D" isn't a pleasant experience, using the paddles felt quite natural after a few minutes and you get that feel of actually driving the car, and engaging with it

+2. I don't get the manual vs SS hate thing, I had SS1 and whilst not up to todays gearboxes I got on ok with it and like the OP liked the blip on downshifts. Good for the OP and all the very best with it.

Like most folk I've had lots of manual sports cars but chose the Vantage because I liked the Sports shift, it works so well. I would find a manual less enjoyable on this car but both options are great depending on planned usage.
