Considering a V8 Vantage as my next 'weekend car' and the one thing putting me off taking the plunge is the apparent absence of any Aston Martin specialists local to me to look after it, as it will inevitably needs work over the years.

Do any owners on here live in and around Nottingham and if so, who do you use for servicing and maintenance?

Welcome kith.

If you are referring to a 2005 to 2018 V8 Vantage, then even though Bamford Rose are 70 miles from you, they are a good firm to maintain your car. Some of their customers travel a greater distance, even from overseas.

They are not involved with the Mercedes-Benz engine V8 Vantage.

Phone contact can sometimes be difficult, but worth persevering.

I use AM Nottingham and not had any problems with them and their prices seem pretty close to the independents. Last year I had a timing cover oil leak and they were cheaper than McGurks quoted me

Thanks both, it would indeed be a mid 2000s V8 Vantage. Do Aston Martin Nottingham do fixed price servicing at lower rates for older cars such as these?

They do for mine, it’s a 2012

I have a 2006 V8V and also use AM Nottingham. For routine servicing they are similar on price to both BR and McGurks, but if the time comes when you need something more significant doing then I suspect the Indies would be a better bet.

Been using AM Notts since 2015, always had good service, they collect and deliver back (included in the price) which saves me a day in Notts (Im over an hour away in NE Notts)

I generally try to use them for the fixed price service, sometimes other work that makes sense, but mostly I do simple jobs myself (discs n pads etc) and/or use my local MOT garage that look after my other cars. As per others, the fixed price service is not that much more than many of the indies.

Thanks all, that's re-assuring that AM Nottingham can and do look after these early Gaydon cars.

Have seen an leggy but honest 2005 model which I'll see if I can do a deal on. Would prefer something like this that I'm not too precious about. Early cars also mean lower road tax which is a nice little sweetener.

Another AM Notts user here for a 2007 Vantage.

Very slightly more expensive than the indies but not that much and they are 30 mins from home, will deliver / collect or give me a courtesy car for the day so the ease makes up for the very slightly higher price.

I did use Aston Engineering in Derby who were great but they no longer do 'modern' Astons.

If you don't mine me asking what were the quotes. I have one from AM Nottingham and McGurk's sales blurb leads you to believe they would be considerably cheaper than a main dealer.

Not a bad word to say about AM Notts.

They looked after my V12S whilst I had it.

Sorry I don’t remember off the top of my head but McGurks were a couple of hundred more and said there could be other on costs as something might break (bolts might shear?) when doing it.
Their website suggests that a main dealer would charge £4k, I paid £2771.39 + vat last May.

This is pretty much my position, I'm located in the middle of the two and used AE a few times and always enjoyed seeing what they had in the workshop, I hope they go back to servicing the Gaydon cars but AM Notts have been ok to deal with for my 2006 Vantage.
I've got a non-Aston trusted garage that I can call upon for what really should be competent home mechanic work. wink

Another thumbs up for AM Notts. They look after my V12Vs (in fact they have just been and collected it a few moments ago for some warranty work!)
Good team and Ash Carey (Service Manager) is a really decent bloke. I have the Timeless Warranty which has been very useful and Ash goes the extra mile to ensure that stuff gets done in a timely fashion (no pun) and with minimal buggeration to me.
Did try the boys in Derby once for some bodywork but whilst the people were great, the finished result was not entirely as it should have been.

Cheers my quote was £2822.5 + VAT. Mine has some oil at the front but never loses any or drips any on the garage floor. Been like that since I bought it and never gets worse. Won't do it unless it gets worse.

Do they drop the engine to do it? Might be a cheap way of getting a clutch fitted whilst it's out smile

I don’t know if they dropped the engine or not sorry. Whilst mine didn’t drip nor lose oil the leak on mine had been mentioned on two previous services so I figured I’d bite the bullet and get it done.

As a post script to this thread, I’m now the proud owner of an ‘09 4.7 manual V8 Vantage in tungsten silver.

Nice. Those wheels really suite the car. Enjoy.
