My 2019 Vantage needs its pads doing (front). Standard steel brakes.

The obvious solution is to give it the dealers which is probably what I will end up doing.

But as with the other cars Ive owned over the years, I wonder if there are any decent aftermarket options both in terms of quality/performance and cost.

Id be grateful for your input.

Porterfield pads are an improvement over the stock pads in dust and noise levels. Can be sourced from David Appleby or Redpants. It's a dead easy job that any shop can do, so don't over-pay at the dealer if you don't have to.

Thanks for your reply. Ive not heard if Porterfield before - a quick google seems to show a number of mixed reviews on various cars.

I note that EuroCarParts sell Pagid pads - does anyone have any experience of these ?

Any feedback would be most appreciated

You might find this interesting. Older generation car, but a direct comparison

Richard does post on here occasionally as, I think, "telum01"

Another vote for Porterfield - I’ve been really impressed with them, especially the lack of dust.

Pagid are good (as long as you get the right compound) but they can be very dusty. I also found on a previous car that some Pagid compounds can munch through discs at an alarming rate (although 20+ stops from 160+ on an airfield day will do that…)

Sorry for the slight thread hijack, but can anyone who's installed the Porterfeld's confirm if the squeak is reduced over OEM? My car has been horrendously squeaky from new, despite best efforts they wouldn't change them under warranty even after the dealer unofficially admitting mine was one of the worst they've heard.

They're also super dusty...it's only the mixed reviews I've seen online that have put me off swapping them.

I have them on my VH AMR. Before it sounded like a bus. After, total silence.
My ‘21 roadster has the stock pads and they are silent albeit a little dirty.

If the sensor has not been activated they can usually be carefully removed and used again.
Autodoc list them as do Aston Bits and I am sure a main dealer will have them, prices seem to be roughly the same wherever obtained.

Certainly the most expensive sensors Ive ever purchased....£178 inc vat for fr and rear from David Appleby Engineering, same price/item from all sellers from what I can see
