Starting problem on my Rapide
Discussion
Hello,
It's Saturday evening and I'm stuck at home with AMRA (Aston Martin Repair Anxiety), wondering WTF is wrong and how expensive it's going to be.
I have a 2011 Rapide with about 50,000miles on it, just got it back from the service and there was oil on the Air filter...the mechanic said it's a common issue and I should just change the filters and forget about it as the repair is not worth it.
Well since getting her back, for some reason, every now and again it hesitates to start. Like it feels like a dead battery (but I drive her daily) when cranking, and it's just not firing up 100% of the time as it used to. Sometimes it's great, others it feels like it's cranking fine, then slows down, then fires up. Not liking this one bit.

Nothing wrong with your starter motor, they go on forever.
How old is the battery? They are easy and cheap to replace so I'd do that first.
Above isn't your biggest problem, if your using it everyday and if there is oil in your airfilters (how bad?) Your pcv valves could of failed so you could get oil starvation.....then catastrophic engine failure. Do you know if the pcv valves were replaced at the same time as the plugs and coils? (thats the time they are easy to get to to replace them)
Whilst your having this problem CHECK YOUR OIL LEVEL EVERY WEEK and keep it topped up.
Remove the air filters and if they are saturated in oil you need to replace the pcv valves.
You need to change garages as your mechanic hasn't got a clue.
Dont worry too much tonight these problems are quite common.
