Hi all,

So I replaced my serpentine belt today and it wasn’t a terrible job. It took 2hrs, including jacking it up. I got a little frustrated trying to put the belt on the final pulley. My mistake was trying to put it over the pulley under the tensioner. Turns out that sliding it over the rounded off pulley next to the alternator was really easy and I suspect is the one you’re supposed to use.

My main reason for posting this is, I’ve heard people talk about needing a special Aston only tool to be able to lever the tensioner back. Some have even welded their own tools to make one. Well I just used my 3/8 torque wrench and it worked perfectly. So I hope that will help others to know that. If it’s already well known, I’ll apologise now, lol.

Good work! Takes time to learn these things. I've got a 3/8 tensioner tool from amazon but use what you've got that fits with the clearance! Deceptively long belt. Shame you won't have to use your newly found skill for a while!
