DB11 Spec and desirability
Discussion
Hello all! I’m currently on the hunt for a DB11 V12 - a nice position to be in!
Anyway, budget is mid-£70s and looking at 2017s with low 20k mileage. It has to be from a main dealer as I want the warranty and I’d really prefer to have the B&O stereo and brogued stitching.
I’m getting the feeling that my perfect spec is simply not going to be available in my budget and that I’m going to have to compromise somewhere.
One has come to my attention but it has the silver strakes, it’s dark blue, has the bright pack and silver wheels. I think you’d say it looks classy, whereas I’d like something a bit more……I dunno what the word is……aggressively sporty?
I assume the strakes can be wrapped, but can all the other bright bits? I don’t fancy painting as I’d prefer to be able to retain originality. I guess the wheels are a simple refurb in a darker - probably anthracite - colour?
And how are the blues for resale a few years down the line? I’m guessing a harder sell than a silver car with black interior?
Part of me thinks that this type of car shouldn’t be meddled with and I should embrace the gentleman’s GT spec but then I’d also like something that feels a bit sportier. That being said, the black on black that I test drove attracted a lot of attention just over the course of a 20 minute drive - perhaps I’d prefer something a bit more subtle!
Thanks for any input!
