The DB6 Volante has been increasingly reluctant to start from cold. It always was a good starter, standard engine. Tried it the other day, first day without rain for ages, and it eventually caught on three then four then five but it was not until I had gone three miles up the road when it fired on all six. Parked it in town in front of a fish and chip shop. When I went back to the car, it refused to even fire in spite of much cranking and made great entertainment for the chip shop customers. Called a friend and we gave the engine thorough check and we had both spark and fuel, so we elected to change all the plugs for the six spares I had in the optional block in the engine compartment. It fired up straight away. NGK plugs in both cases and the correct ones for the car. Went onto the net and saw that there are fake NGK plugs around so I ordered the Bosch equivalent and fitted a set.
It was fairly cold in the garage this evening but the car struck up first turn of the key and sounds much smoother. Anyone else had NGK problems?
