A frequent topic for a well known issue I know.

One of my rear light clusters has the orange indicator/hazards lights fading (though all others work fine)

Has anybody had a rear light repaired recently / able to recommend somebody to do this? I've seen various options over the years

There are a couple of eBay sellers that offer a repair service. I tried the one in Hampshire and it didn't end well; however there's another whose name I forget in Norfolk. Compared to the cost of a new unit it's worth a punt.

You could also look for a s/h unit for £400-500, but you don't know how long it will last.

Did it myself on my Vantage in the end. Found a guide online and followed it. Was a bit scary as it involved softening seals in an oven and opening the unit up but I figured if I screwed it up I'd just replace as originally intended anyway. On closer inspection it had holes drilled in it so someone had attempted a gash solution in the past, sealed those with araldite crystal. Fitted a new LED blade which I sourced online for about £80 or so. Probably more by luck than judgement but it all went fine and has worked perfectly for 2 years now (jinxed!). So, maybe worth a shot if you're a bit handy.

First repair failed after a few weeks; he took it back to fix again but it was worse, instantly giving a warning light when it was fitted, and now wiping out most of the radio reception with static. Contacted him, no reply. So I passed the matter to the CC company who refunded me plus consequential losses.

I do have a spare rear light that was replaced with new last year. It was working fine but condensation had started (again) and for some reason I was feeling flush so swapped it for new. I’d need to check which side its for but if you’re interested in cannibalising it for yours with a fair offer please feel free to pm me.
