My 2017 V8 Vantage S headlight washer is not going back and seating correctly in the headlight unit, main dealer are saying it needs a complete new headlight and my quote is £4,150 , that’s not a typo . So i’m coming to you guys to see if there’s a more sensible solution to this issue, i would of thought it could be fixed somehow. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Most likely the mounts for the washer have broken.
I sell headlight repair kits on Ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/116071837445
You will need to remove headlight to repair.

Not sure where you are based but Aston Installations have a repair bracket just for this which they can supply or fix for you.
Great bunch and the coffees very good as well. 👍👍

It’d be good if you revisit when you get a fix to report how, who by, and how it went

This was a repair I did for a customer last month.
Both washer mounts and headlight mounts were broken.

The first thing I did is to remove the old mounts and leave the mount area scuffed up to allow better adhesion of the glue.

I then removed the washer cover and refitted it without the metal clip, this allows the cover to be aligned in its slots.
I then fitted the new mounts to the washer. This allows me to align everything before gluing.
The mounting bolts stick through the bottom of the mounts and slot into the original holes in the headlight.
(You can just see the holes above)

Once I was happy with the alignment I used a two part Araldite glue to adhere the new mounts.
The headlight mount was fixed in a similar way, before removing the old mount I carefully drilled a small indent through the old mount allowing me to align the new mount.

glad to see repair kits available smile a few years ago when my car failed its MOT due to washer broken off I ended up with a lightly used headlight from astonmartinbits for about £1100 ...still way cheaper than a new unit and managed to get a few hundred on ebay for my old one. No doubt someone repaired it to resell.

That’s brilliant at around 10% of a complete replacement unit quoted by the main dealer! That reminds me of the excellent repair carried out by Chicane Aston Martin repairing the exhaust “noisy” flap connecting link rather than a full back box replacement!

Are these repair kits still available?

I bought one of the repair kits and they do a great job. Saves a lot of money and if you are handy with a spanner, and can use epoxy resin, easy to fit. One word of warning though - cover the headlight with tape and cardboard before you remove it as it is VERY easy to scratch it. I wasn't too bothered as I planned to refurbish the headlight cover anyway once it was out. You have been warned!
